Job Title: Quality AssistantJob Description
We are seeking a dedicated Quality Assistant to ensure that all food safety and quality standards are met consistently. This role involves performing routine quality checks on raw materials, finished products, and packaging materials, in accordance with company and regulatory standards. You will be part of a dynamic team ensuring the highest level of quality in a fast-paced production environment.
Responsibilities
+ Perform routine quality checks on raw materials, finished products, and packaging materials.
+ Assist in preparing the production line for shift start-up, including bringing necessary equipment.
+ Follow all GMPs and monitor GMP practices in production rooms.
+ Ensure line and equipment cleanliness before the start of the day and after each break.
+ Conduct portion control weights and make machine adjustments as necessary.
+ Perform scale accuracy, label checks, and quality checks at the line.
+ Cooperate with all aspects of the safety program and complete all related training.
+ Report near misses and hazardous conditions to supervisors or the safety team.
+ Conduct environmental checks, including swabbing randomly selected areas every two hours.
Essential Skills
+ High school diploma or equivalent.
+ Proficiency in English communication, both oral and written.
+ Attention to detail and strong understanding of quality control procedures.
+ Excellent organizational and time management skills.
+ Basic math and computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
+ Ability to operate an iPad.
+ Ability to stand and move around in a cold environment for 95% of the shift.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Previous quality experience in a fast-paced production environment.
+ Previous food manufacturing experience.
Work Environment
The position primarily involves working on the manufacturing floor, which can be a bit louder during the week when all machines are running. The company provides ear protection if needed. The environment is very clean due to food handling, and cold, similar to a fridge temperature. Employees can dress warmly and are required to wear GMP-regulated attire, including smocks, gloves, hairnets, and booties. The role requires being on your feet all day, and employees often layer up due to the cold. Company values a strong work culture with opportunities for cross-training on the weekend shift. Employees can enjoy free sandwiches from fully stocked fridges during breaks but cannot take them home. Additionally, a store offers discounted sandwiches for purchase.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $22.75/hr.

  • Participates in QAPI meetings, assists in agenda creation, minutes, and maintenance of records 
  • Reviews HOPE Data in accordance with regulations and completes timely submission through iQIES platform and coordinates care team schedule to ensure HOPE Admission, HUV 1, HUV 2 and SFV scheduled and completed in compliance with CMS HQRP Regulations.  
  • Provides direction and coordination of quality improvement activities utilizing input from the team, current data trends and other methodologies 
  • Reports quality data concerns to direct supervisor in a timely fashion 
  • Participates in Medicare and State audits including, but not limited to RAC, TPE, and other ADRs. 
  • Participates in the agency’s internal auditing program and performs clinical audits to ensure quality documentation in accordance with CMS regulations 
  • Participates in relevant teleconferences

Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and maintain the company's Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Oversee QA operations, including batch record review, deviation management, and CAPA implementation.
  • Conduct internal audits and support external regulatory inspections and client audits.
  • Perform quality risk assessments and develop mitigation plans.
  • Ensure compliance with global regulatory standards (e.g., FDA, EMA, ICH).
  • Develop and deliver quality training programs for relevant employees.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, R&D, and other departments to ensure product quality.
  • Manage product quality complaints and investigations.
  • Stay updated on current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and other relevant regulations.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Biology, or a related scientific field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in pharmaceutical quality assurance or quality control.
  • In-depth knowledge of cGMP regulations and guidelines.
  • Proven experience with QMS implementation and maintenance.
  • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities.
  • Experience in preparing for and hosting regulatory inspections is essential.
