The Role

We are looking for a Senior Communications Manager to join our Marketing team and lead Abridges external communications strategy, in collaboration with the VP of Marketing and the executive team. You will be a key member of the Marketing leadership team. This role will focus on brand storytelling, media relations, and thought leadership to elevate Abridges presence in healthcare, AI, and policy. Youll work cross-functionally to craft compelling narratives, engage key stakeholders, and position Abridge as a leader in the space.

What Youll Do

Strategic Communications & Public Relations (in partnership with our PR agency)

  • Drive a communications strategy to boost brand visibility and credibility.

  • Cultivate strong media, analyst, and influencer relationships.

  • Partner with our PR agency to land top-tier coverage and manage media opportunities.

  • Write and distribute press releases, media pitches, and exec communications.

  • Proactively assess and mitigate brand risks with the PR team.

Thought Leadership & Brand Storytelling

  • Collaborate with execs and SMEs to create high-impact contentop-eds, blogs, talks.

  • Craft clear, compelling messaging that elevates Abridges mission and differentiators.

  • Support executive visibility, including media training.

  • Partner with product and marketing to highlight innovation and success stories.

Media Events

  • Identify key media events and secure speaking, sponsorship, and panel opportunities.

  • Elevate Abridges presence in healthcare and AI through thoughtful participation.

  • Align event messaging and promotion with broader brand goals.

What Youll Bring
  • 8+ years of experience in communications, public relations, or marketing, preferably in technology, healthcare, or AI industries.

  • Proven track record of securing media coverage and developing successful PR campaigns.

  • Exceptional writing and storytelling skills, with experience creating compelling content for various audiences.

  • Strong relationships with tech and healthcare media.

  • A proactive mindset, with the ability to anticipate communication needs and address them before they arise

  • Passion for innovating around creative ways to deliver key messages through media channels

This is a hybrid role. Candidates must be within commutable distance of our New York City or San Francisco locations and must be willing to be in the office Tuesday - Wednesday - Thursday.

What You'll Accomplish

Hinge Health Hybrid Model
We believe that remote work and in-person work have their own advantages and disadvantages, and we want to be able to leverage the best of both worlds. Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years in a communications function such as PR, public affairs, or media relations

  • Experience managing PR agencies and project lead for internal and external communications efforts

  • Media relationships with consumer and healthcare reporters

Compensation

This position will have an annual salary, plus equity and benefits. Please note the annual salary range is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location. The annual salary range for this position is $116,000 - $174,000.

As a member of the Communications team, you'll be on the cutting edge of bringing autonomous driving technology to the public, developing strategies that will increase understanding, acceptance, and adoption of this life-saving technology. We work with reporters, editors, bloggers, and other influencers to tell stories about Waymo and the potential of our technology to change how we move and live. We partner with the engineering, business, policy, marketing, and product teams to create messaging for new products and other initiatives, counter misinformation, and shape our reputation.

In this remote role, you will be based in the Bay area and report into our Head of Public Relations.

You will:

  • Help tell the Waymo story and help communicate corporate, business, safety, and some new market news to external audiences.
  • Lead communications strategy for crisis comms and response. Support additional comms announcements around new markets, business news, and safety comms. Includes narrative development, writing, and execution.
  • Build and maintain key relationships with media, conference organizers, researchers, and other external industry stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with the rest of the PR team as well as key cross functional teams including Safety, Legal, Partnerships, Public Affairs, Marketing, Product, Engineering, and other internal teams.
  • Be responsible for some executive communications, including developing talking points, FAQs, and presentations.

You have:

  • 10+ years experience in communications/public relations.
  • Experience developing and executing on communications strategy for crisis response, business news, safety comms.
  • Very strong writing and communication skills.
  • Experience in a fast paced and highly collaborative environment and ability to multi-task with a high bar for detail.
  • Existing relationships with business, tech media and event organizers.

We prefer:

  • Experience in the technology or automotive industries (in-house or agency).
  • Experience in Corporate or Crisis PR roles specifically at tech companies or agencies.
  • Experience launching and building communications strategy for new products or new markets.
  • Bachelor's degree, focus in marketing, communications, journalism.

The expected base salary range for this full-time position across US locations is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level.
