BROAD FUNCTION:
Provides clinical social work services to individuals within an inpatient psychiatric setting, including psychosocial assessment, discharge planning, individual and group interventions, and coordination of care. (DHSES) anticipates the need for two (2) licensed Mental Health Clinicians to provide support services to DHSES - primary Clinician and secondary Clinician. The anticipated overall Clinician workload will be approximately five to ten hours a month. The overall service workload will be fulfilled by the primary Clinician. If the primary Clinician is unavailable for a specific meeting or mental health service need, then DHSES will reach out to the secondary Clinician to fulfill that specific need.
The Clinician(s) should have a minimum of five (5) years of experience as a mental health professional, preferred if the individual has experience working with 1st line public safety personnel (law enforcement, fire). Listed are a few examples of some possible job titles for qualified experience: Master in Social Work (MSW); Licensed MSW; Certified Mental Health Counselor; Clinical Social Worker (CSW); Psychotherapist; Psychologist; Certified Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioner; Applied Behavioral Therapist (ABT) or other.
The Clinician is expected to attend scheduled meetings, in person. The Clinician will provide guidance and support to DHSES management to ensure the most up-to-date best practices are followed.

Upon meeting with the individual and determining the specific mental health crisis after the one (1) session, then the Clinician should be able to refer the employee to other suitable and competent mental health professional who will continue to provide services to the employee.
