We are currently seeking experienced Form Carpenters for multiple upcoming construction projects, beginning with a transfer station build. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dependable team and start work immediately.

Position Overview

  • Project Type : Construction of tall concrete walls with large footings

  • Schedule : Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

  • Locations : Colorado Springs and Pueblo, Colorado

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience with forming systems (Symons brand preferred)

  • Proficient in vertical form setting

  • Experience working with Jahn Brackets

  • Ability to set footings , install Symons wall forms , and tie rebar

  • Must have reliable transportation and personal hand tools

What you'll do:

  • Ability to operate all types of woodworking equipment and hand tools.
  • Work with and adapt sheathing goods to perform the expected concrete finish.

Purpose

The Concrete Carpenter position is responsible for detailed, quality, consistent, and safe assignments in their designated specialty. We are hiring for jobs in the Northern Kentucky, Central Kentucky, Southern Indiana, and Greater Louisville area.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform work to the standards established for the Concrete Carpentry trade.
  • Read and interpret plans, schematics, and drawings. Perform work according to the specifics required in these documents.
  • Effectively and safely use the right trade tools for the projects assigned.
  • Utilize tools and research required by trade to accomplish quality and timely work assignments.
  • Continuously investigate methods and means to improve the cost effectiveness and quality of work within the trade.
  • Provide guidance to unskilled labor to ensure safety and professional project completion.
  • Analyze projects by working closely with the Foreman in identifying potential issues that may arise prior to quoting and at project take-off.
  • Work closely with other trades where projects require simultaneous and overlapping trade work.
  • Perform all work according to safety standards and promote safety on all job sites.
Education and Experience
  • AS in Construction Trade or equivalent trade certification from an accredited program preferred.
  • 3+ years of hands-on trade experience in flatwork.
Skills and Specifications
  • Knowledgeable with grades and ADA requirements.
  • Ability to bend, crouch and stand for long periods of time.
  • Strong knowledge and experience interpreting drawings/project specifications.
  • Experience at efficiently and safely operating trade tools and equipment.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills. Experience working effectively in a team environment.

Sletten Construction Company is seeking Concrete Carpenters to work on several on-going projects in Montana. This position requires the ability to travel. Successful candidates must be able to pass a background check and be willing to sign up with the carpenters union.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work quickly, productively, and safely in order to meet production goals as set forth by the Foreman, Superintendent, or Project Manager

  • Consistently produce quality workmanship as judged by company standards

  • Comply with all company safety and personnel policies

  • Form, pour and finish concrete footings, foundation walls, and small slabs

  • Uphold safety as the most important goal of our company and support our goal of zero accidents.

  • Complete all additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Must be willing to travel to job sites throughout Montana

  • Must be able to lift and carry 80 pounds

  • Must be able to climb, bend, stoop, kneel, lift overhead, work at heights, walk/work in rough terrain in order to access equipment, tools, materials, and jobsite in order to complete work.

Additional Information

  • Work location is varied but typically within the state of Montana.

  • Work is performed outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
