+ **:**
+ The Security & Safety Officer will provide unarmed uniformed security, safety and customer services to all staff, students, patients and visitors of the Medical Center. **Position Responsibilities:**
+ Patrols Medical Center Campus and its buildings to deter crime, prevent loss and promote a safe environment.
+ Provides and maintains a security presence at the main entrances of various buildings on campus to control access, provide directions and assistance and prevent loss.
+ Gathers information for and completes various reports to document incidents and events on the Medical Center Campus.
+ Performs traffic and crowd control on the medical center campus to control access and direct the flow of both pedestrian and vehicle traffic.
+ Assists the Parking Department in the accomplishment of their goals by providing motorist assistance and parking control assists the Safety Department in the accomplishment of their goals by providing fire and chemical safety services.
+ Performs security and service-related duties as assigned to promote loss and crime prevention and service excellence.
+ Enforces the rules and regulations of Loyola University Health System and Medical Center **Required:**
+ High School Diploma plus training acquired through work experience or education
+ **Specify Degree(s):** Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, Security Admin, Fire Services or related field
+ May be required to be on-call for emergencies, and as needed on occasional evenings/weekends for security needs **Preferred:**
+ Associate's degree OR equivalent training acquired via work experience or education
+ 1-2 years of previous job-related experience **Licensure/Certifications:** **Required:**

We are seeking a dedicated, proactive and detail-oriented Safety Manager to lead our workplace safety initiatives. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive safety programs that ensure a safe working environment and compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations. Key Responsibilities:
- Champion and maintain best-in-class safety practices and standards, with a proactive mindset that anticipates potential issues before they arise.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed safety into day-to-day operations and project planning, helping to foster and drive a strong safety-first culture.
- Ensure full compliance with OSHA regulations, while also supporting Fleet Safety and DOT requirements as needed.
- Facilitate dynamic, hands-on safety training sessions focused on compliance, safe work practices, equipment use, and hazard awareness. Partner with HR to ensure training records are accurate and up to date.
- Conduct routine job site inspections to proactively identify potential hazards, evaluate safety practices and behaviors, and work side-by-side with crews to build knowledge and confidence in safe operations. Your presence should add value and reflect true partnership.
- Lead thorough and thoughtful investigations of workplace incidents, identifying root causes and implementing practical, preventive solutions. A curious and open mindset is key to continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is required for this position . The role involves frequent communication with Spanish-speaking team members, vendors, or clients, and fluency in both languages is essential to ensure clear and effective collaboration.
- Proven leadership, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to build effective, collaborative teams are essential.
- Extensive safety experience required, ideally within the construction industry. Solid knowledge of MSHA and OSHA regulations is a must; familiarity with DOT and fleet safety is a plus.
- A bachelors degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred. Professional certifications such as CSP, CHST, or similar are also a plus.
- Must be willing to travel as needed (50% or more) depending on project demands.
