The Assistant Project Manager is responsible for assisting in the oversight of construction projects that deliver exceptional results for clients, generate profit, and produce lasting client relationships.

Sturgeon Electric has experience performing projects under Integrated Lean Project Delivery methods, and also offers pre-construction services, in-house pre-fabrication capabilities, and Building Information Modeling (BIM) capabilities.

This is a location-based position, which will have some minor travel, encompassing work-sites in the assigned project area. We have projects available in Grand Junction, CO. If required for travel outside of Grand Junctioin, a company vehicle and fuel card will be provided.

**There are several client site locations throughout Colorado, each site will need support with occasional travel to the main office in Henderson, CO.** 

Essential Functions

  • Assist Project Manager in a wide range of service management duties
  • Proactively develop effective, efficient solutions to issues that may arise
  • Study bid specifications and drawings carefully
  • Communicate continuously with clients
  • Deliver on projects in a timely manner
  • Attend networking events and travel to conferences and job sites as needed
  • Work to build and maintain long-lasting relationships with clients, vendors and the subcontractor community
  • Coordinate closely with crews, superintendents, and other departments within the company
  • Ensure safety procedures and policies are in place and followed
  • Prepare look-ahead documents and weekly/monthly progress reports
  • Prepare construction schedules in Microsoft Projects and/or Primavera
  • Regular and predictable attendance
  • Other duties as assigned

About You:

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of experience as Estimator or Project Engineer in the electrical construction industry
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field; combination of relevant education and experience considered in lieu of degree

  • Proficiency with MS Excel, and Word
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills

Commercial Roofing Technician Duties
  • Setting project sites up including equipment and scaffolding.
  • Identifying safety related issues and correcting those issues including making sure that all members of the crew are meeting OSHA safety standards.
  • Working with project supervisor to set daily goals and then directing the crew to meet those goals.
  • Protecting the building and building content for any projects that they are working on.
  • Understanding the overall roof assembly being installed and overseeing the installation of the materials into a complete and functional roofing system.
  • Understanding how materials and roofing systems go together and come apart in order to complete repairs to existing roofing systems.
  • Communicating with members of the crew as well as project supervisor and/or business owner.
  • Maintaining project sites in a neat and orderly fashion.
Commercial Roof Technician Experience Required
  • Multiple years of commercial roofing experience
  • Knowledge of flat roofs and metal roofs

POSITION PURPOSE

A Concrete Finisher is responsible for the placement and finishers of concrete, including but not limited to, floor slabs, sidewalks, curbs, and gutters. Finishers are required to complete work safely, with quality and within productivity specifications as directed by the foreman or superintendent.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Spreads, levels and smoothes concrete by performing all required finishes such as trowel, broom, expose and stamp.

  • Layout and perform all control and expansion joints.

  • Complete concrete repairs to plan specifications as needed.

  • Understand and apply curing and sealing requirements based on job specifications.

  • Participates in daily huddles and practices safety as priority on all job sites.

  • Models The Gallegos Corporation mission and values at all times.

  • This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 3 years of concrete or construction experience.

  • Attention to detail with demonstrating accuracy and thoroughness.
