About the position

The 557 WW requires Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) support to accomplish IT analytical, security, IA, and clerical functions for the Wing. This includes planning, defining, implementing and assisting with the operational management of the STIG compliance roadmap, monitoring for and researching emerging changes to the STIG, and presenting the Government with alternative solutions to maintain and ensure continued compliance. Seeking a Cybersecurity Manager for an Information Security Program of the Department of Defense’s Strategic Terrestrial and Space Weather National Security systems.

Duties:
  • Serve as the RMF Cybersecurity Specialist for the organization's Systems
  • Maintain Day-to-Day security analysis of RMF packages to ensure timely updates and notifications
  • Update RMF Security Control Families as required and properly process through eMASS.
  • Maintain thorough understating of NIST 800-53 and NIST 800-171 controls and determine which controls are applicable to the application, as well as document implementation in Security Controls Tractability Matrix
  • Conduct reviews to identify and mitigate potential security weaknesses and ensure that all security features applied to a system are implemented and functional
  • Monitor and resolve Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M) to mitigate system vulnerabilities on assigned Information Systems
  • Develop and provide IA risk management recommendations to the customer

Basic Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in Air Force or industry standards for Cyber Security and system accreditation pr equivalent experience with National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) security standards. 
  • Must have Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II or Information Assurance System Architecture and Engineering (IASAE) Level II certification IAW DoDM 8140.03 and DAFMAN 17-1305
  • Knowledge of the following:

SAIC is hiring a **Cybersecurity Specialist Associate** to support the Air Force weather community on the Technology Application Development & Sustainment (TADS) contract. **This role will be hybrid remote with some onsite work at the customer site, Offutt AFB in Omaha, Nebraska.**
**Job Responsibilities:**
+ Perform Strategic Planning & Management and Digital Forensics.
+ Handle specialized cybersecurity functions, including red-teaming and ethical hacking; cloud security architecture; digital forensics; reverse engineering of malware; enterprise cyber architecture; consultative; and other high-level, specialized, and other advanced, specialized, and/or highly-independent functions not typically covered in other job sub-families.
+ Provide specific, detailed information for hardware and software selection, cloud service provider selection (including SLA authorship, development, assessment), implement application and data migration techniques and tools for the most efficient and simple solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity and security requirements.
+ Assist with security issues including architectures, firewalls, electronic data traffic, and network access.
+ Research evaluate, and recommend new security tools, techniques, and technologies and introduce them to the enterprise in alignment with IT security strategy.
+ Utilize custom tools in order to scan, identify, contain, mitigate, and remediate vulnerabilities and intrusions of physical security and cybersecurity systems, processes, policies, etc.
+ Apply a combination of expert engineering knowledge of enterprise IT and security solutions to design, develop and/or implement solutions to ensure they are consistent with enterprise architecture security policies and support full spectrum military cyberspace operations.
+ Write technical reports.
+ Translate and/or author technical documentation in layman's terms, the work being performed and the outcome of the work being performed.

Manages correlation and analysis of cybersecurity events to identify anomalous/malicious activities. Works with systems and network administrators in support of the CSSP mission to protect, monitor, analyze, detect, and respond to cybersecurity events. Maintains situational awareness of CSSP capabilities and functions and provides notification of degradations and unscheduled outages. Manages team to proactively troubleshoot, analyze, identify, deconflict, and isolate RCA of problems that arise relating to CSSP functional capabilities impacting operations. Recommends courses of action to return impacted systems, functions, and capabilities to full operational status and then implement those selected by USSTRATCOM. Documents DCO actions and activities performed under this TO on the CSSP master stations log, compiling and correlating technical activities.
