We are the Business Intelligence team, a full-stack analytics engineering team that owns the data pipeline from foundational data to trusted dashboards across Product, Marketing, and Go-To-Market (GTM) at Plaid. Our aim is to create the infrastructure, data models, and self-serve systems that enable stakeholders to confidently make decisions based on reliable, accessible data.
As a member of Business Intelligence working directly with our Network Enablement product team, you will be at the forefront of building scalable and reliable analytics foundations that power decision-making across Product, Engineering, and Data Science. This senior individual contributor role is focused on developing foundational product-data infrastructure, defining and maintaining trusted metrics, and enabling self-serve analytics and AI tooling.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain foundational dbt models and curated, source-of-truth datasets that support analytics, experimentation, and decision-making across Product, Engineering, and Data Science.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineers, and Data Scientists to translate instrumentation and analytical requirements into well-structured data models.
- Develop and enforce standards for metrics, modeling practices, and documentation to ensure consistency and reusability.
- Own the full analytics engineering lifecycle-from raw ingestion and transformation to surfacing insights in BI tools like Tableau or Mode.
- Partner with Data Science teams to enable experimentation, forecasting, and AI tooling with reliable, structured data.
- Partner with Data Engineering to ensure data quality and observability, including testing, alerting, and documentation.
- Enable self-serve analytics by building semantic layers and reusable data products that empower teams to independently access trusted insights.
- Act as a technical thought partner within the product data domain, contributing to roadmap planning and data architecture decisions.
- Unlock insights by ensuring Data Science has clean, structured, and trustworthy data.
- Reduce engineering and analytics rework by creating centralized and well-documented metrics.
- Accelerate product iteration cycles by enabling Product teams to self-serve key usage and performance metrics.
- Improve confidence and consistency in decision-making through robust, well-governed data systems.
Impact:
- 10+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or a related technical data role.
- Deep expertise with SQL and dbt, including modular modeling, documentation, and testing.
- Proven track record of building source-of-truth data models that support product use cases.

$159,600 - $60,400 a year
The target base salary for this position ranges from 159,600/year to 260,400/year (in Zone 1, in Zone 4 or encompassing all Zones). The target base salary will vary based on the job's location.
Our geographic zones are as follows:
Zone 1 - New York City and San Francisco Bay Area
Zone 2 - Los Angeles, Seattle, Washington D.C.
Zone 3 - Austin, Boston, Denver, Houston, Portland, Sacramento, San Diego
Zone 4 - Raleigh-Durham and all other US cities

Working with cross-functional teams, the BI Developer will participate in analyzing and clarifying report requirements, making recommendations, and educating when necessary to meet business needs.
The BI Developer will also be required to assist the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) data analysis team in providing analytical support for report troubleshooting for end-users in the Los Angeles Continuum of Care.

Salary transparency
Salary is one part of Autodesk's competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $87,400 and $150,700. Offers are based on the candidate's experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, our compensation package may include annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.

The Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst is a member of the Stanford University IT organization responsible for the development of new analytics solutions as well as supporting and maintaining existing solutions. Under limited supervision, the BI Analyst performs moderately complex project and analytical work in a wide range of business intelligence activities that ensure the uniformity, accuracy, and semantic consistency of enterprise data through the application of effective data management, security, stewardship, and governance processes.
CORE DUTIES:

Perform assigned activities involving decision support systems, query and reporting, online analytical processing, data profiling (slice & dice, drilling), statistical analysis, forecasting, and data mining. Develop insightful business intelligence reports (KPIs, metrics, ad-hoc queries), dashboards, scorecards, continuous monitoring (thresholds), and/or ad-hoc analyses. Clean and transform data as required to deliver actionable information.

Collaborate with application developers, end users, vendors, and management to ensure the creation and delivery of business intelligence solutions. Facilitate working sessions with central and distributed end users and management to identify and document current information flows, data models, reporting systems, user populations, and coordinate with current and future initiatives impacting reporting.

Originate and coordinate data governance/stewardship assignments.

Use reports and analyses to identify potentially problematic data, make corrections, and eliminate root cause for a range of complex data problems (e.g. input errors or inadequate field edits), and recommend possible solutions and communicate their organizational impact.

Perform fit-gap analysis comparing existing reporting solutions with BI strategy and assess compliance with best practices and established standards.

Participate in user acceptance testing of new BI analysis and reporting systems, upgrades, enhancements and change requests; plan, conduct and document results of testing.

Builds long-term relationships between multiple business partners to drive engagement in IT strategy. Influences business partner decision making to optimize requirements prioritization.

Builds long-term relations with IT teams. Educates these teams on project's business technical context and engages them to ensure solution quality and targeted business outcomes.
Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience or combination of education and relevant experience in a quantitative discipline such as economics, finance, statistics or engineering.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of computer system capabilities, business processes and workflow.

Ability to understand and apply the software development lifecycle and project management techniques.

Demonstrated ability to review business processes and translate into BI reporting and analysis solutions.

Experience in data analysis and root cause analysis and developing problem solving and analytical thinking capabilities.

Demonstrated ability with enterprise application and database driven applications.

Expertise with SQL (Structured Query Language).

Experience with relational and dimensional logical data modeling.

In-depth knowledge of and ability using analytical and business intelligence tools including Tableau and Oracle applications.

Proficiency using Microsoft Excel and strong experience with the Microsoft Office suite.

Extensive background and experience with report and analysis design and application of User Interface and User Experience best practices.

Strong writing and analytical skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently.

Proven problem solving and analytical thinking and ability to approach problems logically and systematically.
