Summary/Objective:

The Business Intelligence Analyst independently performs quantitative and qualitative analysis by synthesizing data from multiple sources into meaningful business insights that are alignment with organizational strategy and vision. Works directly with ETL developers to expand and maintain the business intelligence ecosystem by providing updated code, logic, and data sources. Builds and distributes the structure by which enterprise performance is communicated throughout the credit union. Works with key process owners throughout the organization to determine appropriate in-process measurements and benchmarks. Responsible for data governance and supports the construction of the data warehouse tool and translates its functionality into enterprise measurement solutions. Maintains a knowledge repository by documenting processes and procedures regarding the day-to-day operations of the Business Intelligence team.
Essential Functions include:
  • Uncovers business needs and opportunities through root cause analysis, shadowing, benchmarking, or use of other business analysis techniques
  • Discovers and presents pertinent data insights that are alignment with organizational strategy and vision
  • Interprets results using a variety of techniques, ranging from simple data aggregation via statistical analysis to complex data mining and predictive analytics
  • Coordinates with ETL Developers to create and support the business intelligence ecosystem
  • Partners with organizational leaders, analysts, and subject matter experts to understand key processes and evaluate data needs
  • Develops business intelligence solutions to analyze data and present actionable information to help make informed business decisions
  • Builds complex views and queries in SQL to connect various data sources together

Required Skills, Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Statistics, Information Technology or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years' experience with business intelligence visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau and using relational databases such as SQL to query, manipulate, and organize data
  • Demonstrated capability to interrogate data, perform analyses, interpret data, and present findings to a wide range of stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Power BI Data Analyst Associate Certification
  • Proven ability to understand and interpret the needs of the business and develop relationships with a wide range of stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated analytical reasoning and independent problem-solving ability
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills across diverse audiences

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your work will include, but not be limited to:

  • Act as a key partner to business stakeholders, identifying opportunities to leverage data systems to improve processes, support decision-making, and drive strategic use of information.
  • Develop and maintain enterprise level reporting in Power BI, Excel, and PowerPoint, including user acceptance testing (UAT) and ongoing support.
  • Support new data collection initiatives across enterprise and external data sources and lead data validation and continuing data quality efforts.
  • Collect, process, and analyze large data sets from various sources to develop and implement statistical models and algorithms, and perform analysis to identify trends and patterns, including the use of machine learning as beneficial.
  • Communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, ensuring a clear understanding of the value of data analytics solutions and promoting their adoption.
  • Assist with the organization's front end data analytics technology roadmap, ensuring alignment with overall business goals and promoting a data-driven culture.
  • Contribute to the architecture, development, and maintenance of data models with a focus on enabling intuitive and user-friendly self-service analytics.
  • Be part of the relationships with external vendors and partners, ensuring effective collaboration and delivery of data analytics solutions.
  • Familiarity with data warehousing and data analytics tools including SQL, Snowflake, Power BI, Python, or similar tools.

The qualifications:
