Responsibilities
As an Associate Director, you’ll guide teams in driving strategic data-driven growth. You’ll work to surpass client goals through brand campaigns, acquisition campaigns, site optimization, and/or online testing strategy.
Day-to-day, your role includes:
Acting as a key partner for the client and internal teams by implementing conceptual data frameworks and developing effective marketing strategies
Expanding client work, including building recommended approaches and scope

Qualifications
We’re looking for strong, impactful work experience, which typically includes:
7-9 years of experience in analytics or strategy with an advertising agency, management consulting company, or ad tech company
Strong client relationship and communication skills, with experience managing multiple projects across teams
Experience managing a team
Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem solving skills
Experience with modern statistical learning methods (regression techniques, classification models, supervised and unsupervised learning, etc.)
Knowledge of digital data technologies (DMPs, Google Analytics, digital pixel tracking, site tagging, etc.)
A four-year college degree; advanced degree is a plus
Passion for online advertising and emerging trends in the digital landscape
The ability to thrive in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment
Familiarity with prompt-based interaction and commonly used generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Google Gemini, DALL·E, Midjourney) is a plus, especially for tasks like ideation, research, or content generation.

Salary and LocationReferenced Salary Location: Toronto, Ontario

Salary range is expected to be between $120,750.00 USD - $217,350.00 USD

The Associate Data Analyst is a critical contributor within Global Operations, working at the intersection of data engineering and business analytics. - Perform comprehensive quality assurance, ensuring that data meet specifications and reports remain accurate and reliable even in the face of process and tool changes.
- Partner with Operations and Testing stakeholders to maintain a rapid and iterative feedback loop for metrics creation and monitoring.
- Proactively communicate insights and contribute to leadership reviews and team presentations.
- Collaborate with colleagues across different time zones and countries, which may require additional and/or non-standard working hours during any given week to work on projects or attend required meetings.
- Regularly communicate insights and lead portions of leadership reviews and team presentations.

- Bachelor's or higher degree in a quantitative field -- including but not limited to Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, or equivalent knowledge and work experience.
- 2+ years of experience working in analytics engineering, data analytics, data science, or a similar technical role.
- Demonstrated problem solving skills and exemplary attention to detail.
- Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and creative problem solving skills.
- Proficiency in Python, R, or a similar programming language for data analysis.
- Experience performing exploratory data analysis (EDA), data cleaning, and basic data exploration to identify patterns, anomalies, and insights.
- Experience with business intelligence methodologies and a strong understanding of statistics.
- Intermediate level experience with Linux and scripting languages (e.g: Bash/Shell, Python).
- Intermediate level experience with software engineering concepts, including requirements analysis, source control, build processes, design reviews.
- Experience using issue tracking and configuration management tools (E.g: Atlassian Confluence, Jira, Bitbucket, Git).
- Familiarity with Jira (or similar issue tracking systems).

Location and ScheduleThis role is hybrid from our Pittsburgh, Boston, or Las Vegas offices. It requires two in-office days each week, ideally Tuesday and Thursday.

The Stepping Stones Group is looking for a hands-on Lead, BI & Data Analytics to own and drive our data solutions while guiding a small team. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys building complex SQL queries, designing data models, and creating Power BI dashboards — while also mentoring others and setting standards. You’ll spend much of your time in the code and tools, delivering solutions directly, while also ensuring your team follows best practices and delivers high-quality work.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Write, test, and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and functions for high-performance data processing.
- Build and maintain ETL pipelines using SQL Server and Azure Data Factory to ensure clean, reliable, and timely data.
- Design and maintain data warehouse structures and data models that scale with business needs.
- Develop and enhance Power BI dashboards and reports, including DAX calculations and performance tuning.
- Troubleshoot issues across BI, SQL Server, and Azure environments, ensuring stability and accuracy.
- Perform deep-dive data analysis to uncover trends, troubleshoot data anomalies, and provide actionable insights.
- Work daily with Microsoft SQL Server, Power BI, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, and Data Lake.
- Write T-SQL and DAX code to deliver efficient queries and optimized reports.
- Explore and adopt new Microsoft features, including dataflows and advanced analytics integrations, to improve speed and functionality.
- Lead a small team of BI developers and analysts, with a focus on mentoring and code reviews.
- Work side by side with your team — contributing directly to deliverables while teaching best practices.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into working SQL solutions and BI dashboards.
- Set coding standards, enforce data governance, and ensure consistent, reliable output.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- 6+ years of hands-on BI and SQL development experience.
- 2+ years of team leadership or mentoring experience in a BI/analytics environment.
- Strong experience writing and tuning SQL (queries, stored procedures, indexing, performance optimization).
- Proven experience with ETL processes, data modeling, and data warehousing.
- Skilled in building and optimizing Power BI dashboards for executive and operational audiences.
- Excellent communicator who can explain technical solutions to both technical and non-technical users.
Preferred:
- Experience with Azure Synapse, Data Factory, and Data Lake.
- Advanced DAX and T-SQL skills.
- Exposure to Python or R for advanced analytics.
- Track record of being a hands-on leader, balancing coding with team mentorship.
