Develop and maintain Python code. Create financial dashboards and reports for core banking products such as loans, deposits, trade finance, treasury, and customer statements. Perform BI development using SAP Business Objects and Tableau, including designing universes, reports, dashboards, and tuning performance. Write, evaluate, test, and optimize advanced SQL queries across various database platforms. Develop and schedule batch jobs using Autosys. Analyze business requirements, prepare functional and technical specifications, and develop test cases. Coordinate with technical and business teams, assign tasks, and ensure timely delivery with quality. Support relationships with business stakeholders, proactively address BI needs, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Develop and support data governance, reporting automation, and KPI definition to enhance operational efficiency. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. At least 5 years of BI development experience with Tableau, SQL, and related technologies. Minimum 1 year of experience with SAP Business Objects, Autosys, and Python. Ability to work nights and weekends, and be on-call as needed. Qualifications - External

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field (or foreign equivalent degree).

Experience: 5 years of experience performing business intelligence (BI) development using Tableau (designing, developing, testing, and implementing Data Source, Dashboard, Worksheet, LODs, Security, and performance tuning); writing, evaluating, testing, and performance tuning SQL queries in database technologies (DB2, Oracle, MS SQL Server, or AWS redshift); analyzing business requirements, preparing functional and technical specifications, and test cases; and 1 year of experience must include business intelligence (BI) development experience using SAP Business Objects (designing, developing, testing, and implementing Business Objects Universes, reports, Security, and performance tuning); developing and scheduling batch jobs using Autosys; maintaining project deliverables with Waterfall methodology and Agile methodology; and developing and maintaining Python code.

What does a day in the life of an Analytics Engineer look like?

The Sr. Analytics Engineer is a hybrid of a Data Engineer and Business Analyst who bridges the gap by building scalable, impactful data solutions. They transform raw data into actionable insights through robust pipelines, well-designed data models, and tools that empower stakeholders across the organization to make data-driven decisions. Our team combines technical expertise with a deep understanding of the business to unlock the full potential of our data. We prioritize data quality, reliability, and usability, ensuring stakeholders can rely on our data to drive meaningful outcomes. As a Sr. Analytics Engineer, you'll have the autonomy to contribute to challenging projects and lean into collaboration across the company. Leveraging your extensive technological expertise, domain knowledge, and dedication to business objectives, you'll drive innovation to propel Saddle Creek Logistics forward.

As our new Sr. Analytics Engineer, you will report to the Manager of Business Intelligence and work directly with corporate information services (IS) to complete or lead tactical and strategic initiatives. Within this role, a key drivers and responsibilities will be to lead the knowledge sharing and consulting process for all other members of the team.

Primary Responsibilities

• Work with cross-functional stakeholders in defining and documenting company-wide single source of truth data models that power analysis throughout the enterprise

• Architect, build, publish, and maintain performant and reliable data models and pipelines to power self-service data consumption throughout the enterprise

• Empower stakeholders by translating business requirements into scalable data models, dashboards, and tools

• Partner with business teams to ensure alignment on priorities and data solutions

• Drive data quality by transforming dynamic data and business logic into consistent and trustworthy datasets

• Develop and evangelize development standards and best practices for data modeling and working with our data and tools

• Use modern development and analytics tools to deliver value quickly, while ensuring long-term maintainability

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience is required (Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Data Science, Business Analytics, Supply Chain Management)

• 7+ years building data pipelines leveraging common languages such as dbt, SQL, Spark, Python, etc.

• 7+ years of hands-on experience working in a modern cloud environment (AWS, GCP, Azure) leveraging modern data structures and services (file storage, RDMS, streaming services, ELT, etc.)

• 2+ years of hands-on experience working with modern data lake house software and structures Databricks preferred; Snowflake considered

• Experience designing and deploying data products as part of a modern analytics cloud platform

• Have working knowledge of process management and project management life cycle

• Have ability to learn, understand, and apply new technologies and development processes

• Ability to breakdown multiple complex asks and deliver solutions with agility

• Perform as an effective contributor in a team-oriented environment and accomplish desired results with a high degree of quality

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Overview of the United Soccer League (USL)

The United Soccer League (USL) is the heartbeat of American soccer. Impacting more than 200 communities across the United States, the USL is the first and only soccer organization in the United States to build a youth-to-professional pathway for both men and women within one ecosystem. That structure includes three professional leagues: Gainbridge Super League (women), USL Championship (men), and USL League One (men); two pre-professional leagues: USL League Two (men) and the USL W League (women); and two youth platforms: USL Academy and USL Youth.

Authentic, vital, and exciting, the USL is dedicated to providing an inclusive and memorable soccer experience for players, fans, and communities across our growing "soccer nation."

Program Purpose

Under the direction and guidance of USL Executives and Leaders (mentors), the USL Work Experience Program (UWEP) provides students with the unique opportunity to gain practical sport management experience in a professional sports league setting. By working on various strategic projects and initiatives, UWEP participants will gain hands on experience with league staff as well as member teams.

Participants are tasked with and responsible for partnering within a specialized department but will interact with all league departments across the organization including business development, digital, club services, analytics, and more; with the ultimate goal of providing students with well-rounded practical work experience in sports.

Position Purpose
Under the direction of the USL Technology & Data Strategy team, the Business Intelligence UWEP supports the department by assisting with maintaining and developing league-wide dashboards. The Participant will assume an integral role in the production of data analytics and distribution of the results.

Duties and Responsibilities

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist with the routine collection of data and updating of established Tableau dashboards.
  • Build Tableau dashboards to track performance in key metrics towards league goals and initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to implement procedures for new data collection processes and/or data reporting.
  • Translate data across key revenue-driving verticals (e.g., ticketing, corporate partnerships, and consumer products) into targeted analyses, providing insights and recommendations to critical organizational stakeholders that lead to actionable business decisions.
  • Generate new analysis of match performance data to unlock potential commercial value driven from our partnerships with Stats Perform and Spiideo.
  • Support ad-hoc requests for data; build reports, visualizations, executive dashboards, and presentations.
  • Act in a quality assurance role to ensure dashboards/reports are functioning correctly and to provide any recommendations for improvements.
  • Assist other departments and operational areas as requested to provide a well-rounded overview of working in sports.
Qualifications
  • Participants must be working towards a bachelor's or master's degree in a related field and/or training and must certify that they are able to receive college course credit from an accredited college or university for their participation.
  • Solid computer skills and proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook are a must.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic are a must. Must have a "team-first" mentality with an eagerness to learn.
  • Should be extremely organized and detail oriented, with a focus on quality and consistency.
  • While completing the USL Work Experience Program remotely, participants must have access to a computer or laptop with reliable internet connection.
  • Familiarity of Tableau, or another data visualization software.
  • Familiarity of SQL, or other programming languages.
