The Data Analysis Software Intern will be responsible for, but not limited, to the following:
+ Create and maintain PowerBI visualization reports
+ Design and document automated data analysis pipelines

**Remote:** This role is categorized as remote. This means the successful candidate may be based anywhere in the United States and is not expected to report to a GM worksite unless directed by their manager.

**The Role**
The Lead Data Science Statistician - AV Safety Data Analysis will drive the statistical methods used to development and evaluation of autonomous vehicle (AV) performance safety metrics ranging from straightforward to advanced machine learning outputs. This position is part of the Safety Assurance for Effective Autonomous Driving Software (SAFE-ADS) department in the Global Product Safety, System, and Certification (GPSSC) organization. The SAFE-ADS department serves as the central body for automated driving system (ADS) safety. GM's vision is zero crashes, zero emissions, and zero congestion - AV safety is at the heart of driving forward this vision. If you seek to solve complex data science challenges and see your work drive positive safety change, this role is for you.
The ideal candidate will be an expert in data science, statistical modeling, and data development across the entire data maturity curve. They will have experience in automative, safety, and/or robotic industries and understand how to integrate physics and engineering into the foundational statistical methods and approaches. The technical leader is a self-starter and comfortable solving ambiguous problems. They are passionate about data and creating valuable insights that drive continuous safety improvements and confidence in the system.
As a technical leader in the SAFE-ADS data science team, you will provide robust statistical expertise and guidance, weigh alternatives, and explain the different approaches to senior leaders. You will address safety assurance related questions related to ADS behavioral performance and validation. This role involves working with large-scale data generated by the ADS system. One of the key elements is to scale data science work and accelerating time-to-delivery in insights which requires the integration of physics and engineering principles. As a leader, you'll play a key role in defining and advancing GM's AV quantitative measurement and risk assessment efforts. Your work will contribute to enhancing and scaling our existing safety risk assessment framework and help to ensure coverage of our operational design domain, foundational components of the overall safety case that guides decision-making and drives engineering across the entire AV technology stack.
**What You'll Do (Responsibilities)**
+ Develop and standardize best practices of statistical estimations and uncertainty model for use in ADS safety risk assessment framework
+ Work with the team to develop and implement scalable ADS performance measurement solutions to help ensure safe and compliant on-road behavior and build confidence in the results
+ Use an iterative method of development to share early results, identify emerging risks, and provide ongoing guidance
+ Assess bias estimation and subsampling strategies used by system engineering
+ Support Data Engineering and Software & Services (S&S) in the develop and automate pipelines and tooling of the measurement and risk framework
+ Conduct statistical analysis to evaluate ADS driving software aggregate measures
+ Raise the bar for on-road safety by continuously improving safety and AV measurement, and developing a feedback loop for software improvements
+ Collaborate across various AV development teams, including GPSSC, S&S, Data Engineering, and Legal organizations
+ Stay up to date on industry trends and advancements in data science and AI/ML to drive innovation within the team and cross-functionally

**Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)**
+ M.S. degree in quantitative discipline (statistics, operations, biostatistics, econometrics, or other relevant degree.)
+ 8+ minimum years of overall relevant experience, 5 years of which should be experience as a Data Scientist and/or Statistician in a corporate or government setting
+ Expertise in statistical modeling, machine learning and/or deep learning techniques
+ Prior experience with causal inference using instrumented variables and other forms of multifactor attribution methods

Work You'll Do
As a Data Science Manager at SFL Scientific, you will develop and manage a team of developers to deliver novel solutions in the AI and GenAI domains. You will be responsible for the technical direction of client engagements while defining the project strategy, communicating complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, and leading solution development to solve our clients' use cases. The Data Science Manager will provide leadership for our comprehensive data science and AI initiatives, developing and executing strategies that deliver measurable business and scientific outcomes. Successful candidates will be an expert in using state-of-the-art technologies such as computer vision, natural language processing (NLP), time-series analysis, graph neural networks, and other AI/ML subdomains to solve complex business problems across diverse applications and use cases. Data Science Managers are also responsible for but not limited to:
+ Support identification of high-value AI opportunities that drive industry advantage, representing an organization's AI vision through strategic delivery and industry.
+ Serve as the technical lead on projects to drive the technical strategy, roadmap, and prototyping of AI/ML solutions to meet each clients' unique requirements
+ Engage and guide a diverse set of clients with high autonomy in AI strategy and adoption, including understanding organizational needs, performing exploratory data analysis (EDA), building and validating models, and deploying models into production
+ Lead comprehensive AI initiatives spanning predictive and generative AI, overseeing development of advanced models and ensuring systems are scalable, efficient, and adhere to requirements and AI guidelines
+ Support an interdisciplinary team of data scientists, engineers, and solution architects to achieve technical delivery objectives and real-world performance for production and research applications

Qualifications
Required:
+ Master's or PhD degree in a relevant STEM field (Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, etc.)
+ 6+ years of experience working in data science, data engineering, software engineering, or MLOps
+ 6+ years of experience in AI/ML algorithm development workflow and data analysis in the major data modalities from NLP, time-series analysis, computer vision to graph models
+ 6+ years of experience in core programming languages and data science packages (Python, Keras, PyTorch, Pandas, Scikit-learn, Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
+ 6+ years of experience with traditional ML and deep learning techniques (CNNs, RNNs, LSTMs, GANs), model tuning, and validation of developed algorithms
+ 4+ years of experience managing teams and delivering complex and critical projects
+ Live within commuting distance to one of Deloitte's consulting offices
+ Ability to travel 10%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve

Preferred:
+ Experience with cloud deployment (AWS, Azure, GCP), such as building and scaling in AWS SageMaker or Azure ML Studio

The Data Science Director - Customer Service Analytics (PS&L) is responsible for developing and executing the Analytic Strategy for Ford Customer Service Division (FCSD), specifically supporting the Parts Supply and Logistics (PS&L) team.
An ideal candidate will:
+ Collaborate closely/embed with PS&L business and operations leaders to understand needs and discover analytic solutions that drive business value.

**What you'll do.**
+ Develop analytic tools using data sourced from the GDIA data platform and operational applications to derive actionable insights for the Parts, Supply and Logistics (PS&L) teams,
+ Drive automation of the Data and Analytic eco-system within GDIA and across the division.
+ Make quick assessments of new business requests related to PS&L, source required data, develop and report needed insights, drive efficiencies to scale prioritized solutions
+ Identify data gaps inhibiting the creation of actionable insights, drive common requirements upstream into the Data Platform assets
+ Limit duplication of effort and possible data/insight conflicts across multiple GDIA/Ford teams
+ Improve our insights through ongoing root cause investigations and analytics governance processes.
+ Improve organizational understanding of what data and insights are available in the PS&L space
+ Co-develop with business leaders a Vision for the use of Analytics in the PS&L space, pulling from learnings of other analytics efforts across GDIA/Ford. Drive this aligned vision into the Product roadmaps. Utilize Plan-Do-Check-Act to measure progress and adjust roadmaps from learnings/feedback.
**You'll have.**
+ Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science or related field or a combination of education and equivalent work experience
+ 5+ years of experience as a Data Science Leader with skills including:
+ Ability to simplify complex issues to develop a compelling point of view and persuasively make a data driven case for change, that leads to action.
+ Ability to communicate points of view to senior leaders with detail and focus appropriate to a variety of audiences and stakeholders
+ Basic abilities to perform analysis using Data Platform assets on Google Cloud Platform (data pulls for ad hoc inquires with aggregations), and ability to use visualization tools to describe large datasets (e.g. Looker Studio)
+ 5+ years of experience leading a team of data scientists to perform complex analytic deep dives including predictive model creation and validation.
+ 2+ years of experience using Automotive and/or Customer/Marketing operational data (e.g. Technician Hotline/GTAC, Repair Order data/DCDS/UDB, etc.), connected vehicle data (e.g. DTC summary, EV Charge Data, Trip Summary), or similar and general awareness/understanding of quality/warranty data at Ford (e.g. Warranty databases like WADR, GSAR and tools like Quality.ai).
