Overall Objective

The Jr. Business Intelligence Analyst role works under the direction of the Sr Manager of Business Intelligence & Analytics, to deliver effective business intelligence tools & visualizations to drive business decisions within the organization. Responsibilities

  • Work with business and technology partners to define measurement plans for Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse solutions combining disparate data types for Sales, Financial, Operational and Media performance.

Requirements

  • BA./B.S. degree is preferred or equivalent in Business Intelligence, Computer Science, MIS, or a comparable field of study is preferred.

  • Experience working with Google Cloud Platform products preferred (BigQuery)

  • 1-2 years working primarily with Microsoft Power BI (connecting data from multiple sources, building visualizations and reporting dashboards)

  • Proficient in DAX, M language

  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel (pivot, lookup, table creation)

  • General understanding of digital advertising, digital media strategy, ad placement type, placement-level insight, and standard media metrics

  • Experience managing and coordinating efforts across various teams/offices

  • Excellent presentation skills & and attention to detail

  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

**Essential Functions:**
Customer Database Marketing & Data Platform Owner:
+ Define and execute Simon Data database objectives and strategies, and guide IT on effective data models
+ Oversee end-to-end data collection and integration-build and maintain ETL pipelines (Simon Data, Salesforce, Polar Online/Academy, onboard spend, unsubs) into Snowflake
+ Implement complex customer segmentation and lifecycle journeys for email, direct mail and paid media
+ Leverage the CDP for analytics and reporting, translating raw data into targeted marketing insights and actions
+ Oversee direct mail and paid media segmentation strategies to ensure full alignment with CRM campaigns and overall marketing goals.
Marketing Analysis and reporting: Lead comprehensive, data-driven marketing analysis and reporting by:
+ Collecting, integrating and modeling data from all channels (Direct Mail Q3/Q4, repeat cruiser RFPs, digital campaigns, etc.)
+ Applying statistical methods and data visualization to extract actionable insights and inform future marketing strategies
+ Monitoring KPIs to assess campaign effectiveness and conducting competitive and trend analyses to uncover market opportunities
+ Staying on top of industry trends and customer behavior shifts to adapt strategies proactively

+ Assist in the development and maintenance of business intelligence solutions, including data models, ETL processes, and reports
+ Work with business stakeholders to understand their data needs and provide relevant data analysis and reporting
+ Contribute to data quality initiatives by identifying and resolving data issues. Maintain clear and concise documentation of data analysis projects and processes
+ Stay abreast of industry best practices and new data analysis techniques and tools
**Minimum Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's degree in relevant field and a minimum of 4 years of experience or a master's degree and 2 years of experience OR PhD and 0 years of experience is required. A High School diploma and 4 years of additional experience or associate's degree and 2 years of additional experience may be exchanged in lieu of a required bachelor's degree
+ Solid SQL skills, including the ability to write queries and perform data manipulation.
+ Experience with at least one BI visualization tool (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Qlik Sense).
+ Understanding of data warehousing concepts and dimensional modeling.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ 4 years of experience in an agile-informed development environment. More than 3 years of experience in a data analyst role, with a focus on business intelligence and analytics.
+ PhD, Master's OR bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, or a related field.
+ CompTIA Data+, Microsoft Certified Data Analyst-Associate, and Associate Certified Analytics Professional (aCAP).
+ Experience at a DoD Combatant Command (e.g., SOUTHCOM, NORTHCOM, CENTCOM, CYBERCOM, INDOPACOM, EUCOM, AFRICOM, STRATCOM, TRANSCOM, SOCOM, SPACECOM) or a component is desired.
**Clearance Requirements:**
+ Secret clearance is required
**Physical Requirements:**
+ The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.
