Our client, a very well capitalized, private equity backed company that is in high acquisition mode with a number of current nationwide targets, is recruiting for their Manager of Technical Accounting and Deal Analysis to join their world class team. Based in the Washington, DC area, this is a ground floor opportunity for a talented Technical Accounting Manager to take their career to the next level quickly with a great amount of career runway as this company rapidly builds their finance team and overall infrastructure. This newly created Manager of Technical Accounting position will work with a tenured Controller support their talented CFO closely. This opportunity offers a chance to work in a dynamic environment, where your skills in public accounting, business combinations, and financial reporting will be highly valued. This role will oversee the preparation of opening balance sheets for acquisitions, ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, and support the Controller in various technical accounting tasks.
In addition, this role will provide accounting leadership and technical guidance for the corporate team and their acquisition integrations. Duties for this this exciting Manager of Technical Accounting and Deal Analysis position will include the following:
- Supporting ongoing acquisitions including preparation of opening balance sheets and support technical accounting matters related to the transaction
- Performing financial analysis to support deal structuring, including purchase price allocation and post-transaction adjustments.
- Calculating working capital by entity and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, such as ASC 805 for business combinations.
- Supporting the Controller's group with account reconciliations and accounting for intercompany transactions.
- Compiling cash forecasts and reporting relating to acquisitions
- Assisting with the maintenance of technical accounting standards such as ASC 805, 606 and 842
- Supporting the continued implementation of their new ERP systems
- Preparing workpapers and month-end reconciliations for balance sheet accounts and select income statement accounts.
- Identifying and valuing tangible and intangible assets, liabilities, and goodwill.
- Assisting to integrate acquired entities into the consolidated financial reporting systems
- Support the company's annual audits and tax filings.

Requirements
- 4 years of more years of financial audit experience. Experience within a Big 4 or national level accounting firm is preferred

- experience in a Big 4 or national firm transaction advisory services practice or M& A experience in a corporate setting is desired

About the Department
Based out of our headquarters in the West Loop of Chicago, U.S. Finance is comprised of several teams of professionals that oversee all internal financial planning and analysis activity, economic policy and franchisee financial support for McDonald's USA, LLC. The various groups within the department work together to provide in-depth financial reporting for both the Company and its franchisees, preserve the internal control environment, and plan for the various business unit's capital, G&A and operating income goals. In addition, teams provide economic analysis on new business introductions such as menu, equipment, and operating procedures and manage the investment portfolio for assets related to Company owned restaurants.
About the Opportunity
US Finance is comprised of financial professionals who lead all aspects of financial activities, including real estate and development finance; financial planning and analysis; pricing, affordability, and digital strategy; national field finance; field finance; and economic policy for McDonald's USA, LLC.
This position offers a unique opportunity to lead the Deal Analysis team. This team is a key partner to the New Construction and Reinvestment teams within Real Estate and Development, which is one of the 4-"Ds" of McDonald's Accelerating the Arches growth strategy. The U.S. Real Estate Team works across the U.S. to locate exceptional locations for New Restaurants. The individual in this role leads a team that works directly with Real Estate Teams to analyze each location using multiple data points and provide meaningful financial analysis for each site. In addition, this role works directly with each of the 10 U.S. Field Offices to provide analysis on sites that will be Rebuilt. This role offers the opportunity to be the subject matter expert in real estate finance and be a strategic thought partner to influence critical decision making for new store development and reinvestment.
Duties
+ Influence decision making at weekly Real Estate Committee Meetings through effective communication of financial returns on investments.
+ Lead team of Supervisors and Specialists that analyze economics of New Restaurants, by modeling sales, cash flow, and returns, and provide insight into the relative risks and opportunities of those transactions.
+ Enable team efforts to leverage data and analytics to build reporting that communicates key portfolio metrics to executive leadership. Reporting emphasizes insight into portfolio returns, development costs, and global development KPIs.
+ Evaluate Rebuild economics by leading the review of Incremental returns and collaborate with Global Business Services and Asset Management teams to incorporate US economic policies.
+ Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to continuously improve processes and communication between US Development, Technology, and Finance Teams.
+ Gain a deep understanding of U.S. economic policies and adapting analysis as needed to drive optimal decision making for our real estate portfolio and growth plans.
+ Lead ad hoc analysis and special projects to enhance our real estate and development finance strategies as well as opportunities for broader exposure to the U.S. Finance and U.S. Real Estate Development organizations.
+ Coach, train, and mentor members of the Deal Analysis team, aiding in their professional development and financial proficiency.
Qualifications

Job Description
As a member of the Financial Modeling & Analytics
(FM&A) team, you will be responsible for building, reviewing, and
maintaining the financial model for your respective deals within the Project
Development portfolio! The FM&A team supports the Project SPV Deal Lead by
providing any required quantitative analysis and assists in preparing all vital
materials for Investment Committee presentations. As the financial modeling
expert, you will be required to review and provide feedback on the accuracy and
performance of internal & external financial models!
**How You'll Make an Impact (responsibilities)**
+ Completemultilayered market research in the field of energy infrastructure,highlighting recent transactions in power generation, transmission,hydrogen, and renewables.
+ Analyzesophisticated market data and build PowerPoint presentations thateffectively communicate key findings
+ Applya basic understanding of Siemens Energy's portfolio of technologies
+ Buildand maintain databases that provide an accurate and mark best practices standard processes to ensureoutstanding Excel-based valuation tools are applied to quantify keytransaction risks, perform sensitivity analyses, estimate potentialreturns related to investment opportunities and determine optimalallocation of capital among prospective projects
**What You Bring (requirements)**
+ Bachelor'sDegree or equivalent experience in economics, math, and/or finance.
+ Industryexperience - 3 to 5 years' experience within various roles pertaining toM&A consulting, investment/corporate banking, private equity/venturecapital, valuation, FP&A or corporate development
+ Proficiencyin building and continually improving integrated financial models usingExcel and creating informative PowerPoint presentations for C-suite andboard members
+ Proactive,multifaceted, decisive & results oriented and a standout colleaguewith strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
