Position Summary
The Digital Communications Officer will play a key role in helping to advance Helmsley's work and leadership. Reporting to the Director of Communications, the successful candidate will drive organic social media and web content strategy, create multimedia content and set the cross-platform strategies, performance metrics, and desired outcomes that support Helmsley's overall messaging. They will have a strong understanding of SEO best practices and be adept at using analytics to inform content decisions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development and implementation of Helmsley's communication strategy, including leading the creation of multimedia content that reflects and advances Helmsley's mission.
- Monitor and analyze content performance, traffic and engagement to continuously improve our content strategy.
- Monitor and report on content and platform performance using analytics tools such as Piwik and Sprout Social. Develop recurring reports and dashboards to assess performance.
- Lead content strategy to support key initiatives with exceptional writing and content development skills.
- Create and maintain an editorial calendar to review content regularly and ensure the accuracy of content displayed on the foundation's channels.
- Stay ahead of trends, platforms, and best practices to keep our strategies innovative and effective.
- Serve as point of contact for key vendors.
- Collaborate across teams at Helmsley and partner organizations from each program area.
- Represent Helmsley in a polished and professional manner at all times.
- Create high-quality and engaging content for the foundation's website; optimize content for search engines, including title tags, meta descriptions, and on-page content.
- Partner with the Grants Management team on enhancements to the website's grants database.
- Establish the strategy, tone, and content approach across each social media channel.
- Define annual objectives for social media channels and a measurement plan
- Develop and implement innovative social media strategies to increase brand awareness, grow audience, and drive engagement.
- Collaborate with the team to create content that amplifies the work being done across all six program areas.
- Analyze social media and other communications data to evaluate and improve communications initiatives and strategies.
- Manage and execute social storytelling projects from end to end.
- Help source, license, and manage photos and videos.
- Create design and multimedia assets to support campaigns, including graphics, photos, and short videos from start to finish.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; advanced degree in Communications, Journalism, English, or related subject preferred.
- Minimum of seven years of experience in a digital communications role.

Job Description
Jajo seeks a strategic and results-driven Digital Marketing Strategist to join our growing marketing agency! This opportunity is heavily weighted in paid advertising and is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, driving real business results.
As a Digital Marketing Specialist, you’ll be at the forefront of Jajo’s digital marketing efforts, developing, executing, and optimizing multi-channel campaigns for a diverse range of clients. You’ll work closely with our content and creative teams to implement high-impact strategies across paid search, programmatic advertising, social platform advertising, and marketing automation. You’ll also leverage key findings through data analysis to improve campaign performances and help our clients maximize their return on investment (ROI).
This is an 8-hour, full-time remote position.
What You'll Do
- Develop & Optimize Digital Strategies – Plan and execute innovative multi-channel digital marketing campaigns, including programmatic, paid search (Google Ads), paid social (Meta, LinkedIn, etc.), SEO/SEM, email marketing, and lead generation funnels.
- Manage & Monitor Ad Performance – Oversee the execution and day-to-day management of paid campaigns, continuously optimizing performance to improve ROI.
- Audience Targeting & Keyword Research – Conduct in-depth research to build precise target audiences and identify high-value keywords to drive campaign success.
- Data-Based Decision Making – Track, measure, and analyze campaign performance (ROI, KPIs) using analytics tools to inform optimization strategies.
- Enhance Customer Journeys – Identify conversion and drop-off points, providing insights and strategies to improve the end-to-end user experience.
- Stay Ahead of Trends – Keep up with digital marketing advancements, platforms, and tools, implementing creative strategies for our agency and clients.
- Educate & Advise – Provide thought leadership and strategic recommendations to internal teams and clients, ensuring they leverage the best digital marketing solutions.
What We're Looking For
- Experience – At least 3-5 years in a professional role, preferably with an agency .
- Expertise – Proven track record in digital strategies (organic and paid), audience targeting, budgeting, lead generation, data interpretation, and campaign management.
- Technical Skills – Strong working knowledge of Google Ads, Meta Ads, LinkedIn Ads, SEO/SEM, programmatic advertising (DSP), and email marketing.
- Analytics & Tracking – Experience with marketing analytics tools (Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, etc.), attribution modeling, and conversion tracking.
- Education – Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study.
- Bonus Skills – Relevant certifications (GA4, Google Ads, Meta Blueprint, HubSpot, etc.) are a plus!
