Job Summary:
The Assistant Director of the Secondary Technical Center (STC) is responsible for providing administrative and clerical support to the director of the STC; collecting and compiling data; researching and preparing special reports; examining, creating, and verifying documents; organizing and maintenance of records; communicating professionally in various capacities; represent the STC director when needed, and performing other duties as assigned. This position is governed by state and federal laws and institution policy.
Salary: Annual salary of $42,000. Plus, excellent benefit package.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Conducts Secondary Technical Center business in the absence of the Center Director.
• Assists Secondary Technical Center Faculty with program needs.
• Assists Secondary Technical Center Faculty with the SkillsUSA student organization.
• Works closely with participating high school personnel concerning all aspects of Secondary Technical Center Students.
• Researches, collects, and organizes data pertinent to programs, division, and/or institutional goals and objectives and prepares special reports.
• Organizes and maintains records and files.
• Assists in reviewing and/or revising policies, procedures, catalog, syllabi, and/or other assigned files.
• Provides information, assistance, and clarification to interested parties on a professional level.
• Orders program, departmental, divisional, and/or institutional supplies and equipment.
• Reviews documents including, but not limited to, applications, forms, records, and reports for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with laws and regulations and makes necessary corrections.
• Reviews, answers and/or prepares correspondence for departmental, divisional, and/or institutional needs.
• Attends and takes minutes at various advisory meetings.
• Assists with recruiting events.
• Attends applicable professional development to stay abreast of trends in applicable areas.
• Assists division personnel with travel and meeting arrangements and documentation.
• Participates on assigned committees.
• Abides by institutional and state policies, procedures, and governing body regulations.
Performs other duties asassigned.
Skills and Abilities:
• Skilled in computer and software use, especially Microsoft Office applications.
• Professional and pleasant demeanor, team-oriented, and problem-solving ability.
• Exceptional and articulate verbal and written communication skills.
• Good listening skills and ability to follow directions.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and prioritization skills.
• Ability to multi-task and follow up on assigned duties.
• Knowledgeable of data collection, research, and creation of reports.
• Ability to train others in computer and administrative processes and procedures.
Required Education and Experience:
• Possess a Bachelor's Degree in education or a related field.
• Three years of experience in education or a related field.
Preferred Education and Experience:
• Possess a Master's Degree in education or a related field or be willing to pursue a Master's Degree.
• Five years of experience in education or a related field.
Physical Requirements:
• Fine motor coordination and dexterity used to complete computer work, physical documentation, use office equipment.
• Gross motor skills used to push, pull, lift, hold, carry objects (must be able to lift 40 pounds independently).
• Gross motor skills used to reach, twist, and bend.
• Sit for numerous hours during the day.
• Stand for limited durations throughout the day.
• Move throughout building, across campus, between campuses, and in local geographic area.
• Complete repetitive tasks using repetitive motions.
