Key Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day legal counsel to public school boards, administrators, and faculty
- Advise clients on special education law (IDEA, Section 504) and student-related legal issues
- Conduct reviews of internal processes and recommend best practices for special education services
- Draft, review, and revise school board policies , contracts , employment agreements , and student discipline procedures
- Represent school clients in hearings, due process proceedings , and administrative matters
- Keep clients up to date with evolving laws and regulations affecting educational institutions
- Collaborate with educators and staff to implement preventative strategies to minimize legal risk
- Licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania (Active PA Bar - REQUIRED)

Position Description
The Assistant Director will assist the Prison Education Program Director with program operations, including the development and maintenance of systems related to admissions, marketing, event-planning, academic programing, co-curricular activities, and the management of student information. This person will have direct interactions with incarcerated individuals. A high level of personal maturity, including strong emotional intelligence, accountability, professionalism, and the ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion are a must.
Position Responsibilities
- Work with the Program Director, and Eastern University's Office of Admissions and Financial Aid to organize, track, and assess application materials.
- Assist in the on-boarding and training of faculty and volunteers.
- Escorting inside facility, maintaining pa.gov email, printing for faculty, advising students/addressing student concerns, giving grade updates for students, requesting call-outs
- Assist Program Director in managing and tracking operational budget, such as the submission of check requests and credit card reconciliation forms.
- Effectively communicate with stakeholders and volunteers by(a) typing emails and meeting minutes, (b)processing and editing documents,(c)creating tables and representing financial data, (d) maintaining PEP's social media presence, and (e) assisting with the creation and dissemination of regular PEP newsletters
