Regional Director Of Education Essential Duties And Responsiblities

  • Evaluates the Learning Resource System materials to ensure that they are commensurate with the level of education, appropriate to the courses of study, in sufficient quantity and scope to meet the educational objectives of the traditional programs (all programs except vocational nursing and surgical technology). Makes recommendations for replenishing or adding to the Learning Resource Inventory.
  • Participates in ongoing institutional assessment, improvement and planning for traditional programs.
  • Participates in and facilitates community outreach that enhances the educational experience of the student and supports the objectives of the various traditional programs.
  • Participates in Program Advisory Committee meetings for all traditional programs.
  • Tracks and monitors all professional development activities of the traditional faculty. Creates and facilitates in-service professional development activities.
  • Reviews and monitors students academic performance to allow instructor support and guidance where necessary.
  • Conducts monthly faculty observations and yearly evaluations for traditional faculty.
  • Conducts faculty observations for nursing and Surgical Technology faculty, as needed.
  • Writes observation reports and delivers findings to the faculty member, campus director and/or program director as necessary.
  • Monitors, reviews and inputs grades and attendance in CLASS as necessary.
  • Assisting in the handling of student advising issues, including providing community resources as necessary.
  • Reviews faculty supply orders to assure that they are conducting laboratory exercises.
  • Trains and mentors all new hire faculty in the use of the intranet, email and completion of required new hire professional development.
  • Facilitates as a general substitute instructor as requested or needed.
  • Attends both morning and evening campus meetings (these may alternate monthly) and attends various department meetings.
  • Participates in campus meetings including making presentations and speaking on designated topics.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Education And Experience

  • Minimum of three years work experience in educational administration or management of educational programs.
  • Previous teaching experience in a Post-Secondary or proprietary career college preferred.
  • Experience in supervising instructors a plus.
  • Experience in institutional or programmatic accreditation or regulatory compliance is a plus.

Job Summary

As a school nurse, you will be required to promote disease prevention, health, and well-being among the student population you serve. Your students will vary in age from grades K-12, depending on the school to which you will be assigned within the district.

In addition to basic first aid, you will need to meet the unique healthcare needs of students within your school. Any care provided to students will need to be consistent with their individual education plans ( IEPs ), individual healthcare plans ( IHPs ), and/ or 504 plans when applicable.

Position Summary

Responsible for planning, developing, coordinating, supporting, and monitoring medical education programs for residents and fellows in graduate medical education (GME). Serves as coordinator for educational experiences for GME learners and maintains a successful educational program that represents Long Beach Medical Center/Miller Children's & Women's Hospital.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job

  1. Interfaces with program directors (PDs) and teaching faculty to support quality educational programs for professional staff and ensures compliance with national accreditation standards, hospital policies, and educational program guidelines. Provides support as needed for program directors (curriculum, correspondence, training materials, etc.) according to the departmental/programmatic needs.
  2. Connects with learners to support their educational needs as well as acts as a liaison with medical education administration. Provides support as needed to learners (check-in and registration materials, correspondence, rotation or on-call schedules, meal cards, etc.) according to the departmental needs.
  3. Provides and coordinates support of logistical services (publicity, presentations, attendance verification, minutes, correspondence, evaluations, summary, and analysis) for medical education programs and activities.
  4. Under minimal supervision, plans, develops, and monitors events held at Long Beach Medical Center/Miller Children's and Women's Hospital to ensure effective and successful programs, while positively representing MemorialCare. Oversees all aspects of events (meeting room reservation, catering requests, and AV support) according to the department needs.
  5. Maintains faculty documentation and provides support as needed (CVs, credentials, disclosures, honoraria) according to department needs, Monitors program requirements to ensure accreditation compliance (ACCME, ACGME, CPME, AAMC, ABFM, ABP, PHARMA, etc.) according to department needs.
  6. Processes financial requests as needed (check requests, reimbursements, travel authorization) and, when possible, looks for ways to reduce or maintain costs and exercise fiscal responsibility in order to remain budget neutral.
  7. Performs other duties as assigned.


*Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. Minimum Requirements

Qualifications/Work Experience:

  • 2+ years of experience in medical education or healthcare field preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and an ability to maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentially.

OVERVIEW:

The Behavior Specialist is responsible for overseeing student behavior progress, incentives, and interventions, providing individual support to students, group support to the staff, and supporting families as needed.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design, plan, and implement behavior support plans in/outside the classroom in collaboration with classroom staff
  • Using IEP and school reports, measure goals behavior support plans, to analyze the behavioral interventions to determine their success
  • Provide in-classroom support as needed to support and encourage students
  • Assist caregivers in facilitating healthy routines and behavior interventions
  • Maintain records of student's special education reports, services provided, and behavioral data
  • Assist with and participate in any programs part of the Summer Day Camp, such as enrichments, lessons, Troops, yoga, dance, and sports programs
  • Provide opportunities for children to succeed, develop, and strengthen academic, physical, and social skills
  • Actively seek professional development and resources to further support youth and families
  • Ensure Child Safety Policies are practiced consistently
  • Report possible cases of child abuse, neglect, or endangerment to the proper authorities.
  • Other related duties as required

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's Required in human services, education, or related field (Masters preferred)
  • Experience working with diverse backgrounds and ages, (TK - 8th preferred)
  • Experience handling emotionally charged situations.
  • Experiencing training other people to apply behavior management techniques effectively.
  • Experience behavior analysis, and behavioral characteristics associated with specific behavior needs
  • Knowledge instructional methods and education curriculums
  • Knowledge of trauma on students and how to lead in a trauma-informed manner

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Able to effectively respond and redirect children in a positive manner
  • Able to effectively communicate with parents/families
  • Comfortable with enforcing program rules and policies

EQUIPMENT USED:

  • Modern Office Equipment and Relevant Software

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. (Usually file boxes)

Must have a CA teaching license AND mild/mod or mod/severe certificate.
