*Supervise and monitor new nursing employees throughout their individualized orientation period.
*Perform annual competency testing and evaluation and clinically appraise nursing staff performance to identify areas for education.
*Provide oversight to Employee Health Program to include administering and tracking of tuberculosis and hepatitis vaccine and tracking of influenza immunizations for all employees. Qualifications:
*Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with current RN license
* Minimum three years full-time or equivalent clinical experience preferred
* Two years of clinical experience in long-term care nursing with one year as an educator preferred
* Excellence in clinical nursing skills required
* Experience in Gerontology preferred
* Training and/or experience in adult learning preferred

Position Summary
The Division of General Internal Medicine (GIM), within the Department of Internal Medicine, is seeking a Medical Education Program Coordinator to join our team. GIM is a large, diverse, and dynamic division that also encompasses the Section of Geriatrics. With 41 faculty members across 10 clinical sites, 24 volunteer faculty statewide, and 4 new faculty currently being recruited, the division is expanding its education, research, and clinical missions. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual interested in joining a team-focused administrative role in a growing academic medical environment.
The Medical Education Program Coordinator will manage the daily administrative operations for the Geriatrics and Clinical Informatics Fellowship Programs while providing high-level administrative support to faculty and the division. This role requires initiative, organizational skills, and the ability to coordinate multiple priorities in a fast-paced academic healthcare setting.
Key Responsibilities included but not limited to the following:
- Program Administration: Oversee day-to-day operations of fellowship programs, including compliance, accreditation documentation, trainee progress tracking, and program evaluations.
- Faculty & Trainee Support: Coordinate scheduling, leave requests, travel, credentialing, and correspondence for faculty and fellows.
- Recruitment & Onboarding: Manage application processes, interviews, candidate communications, onboarding, and orientation activities.
- Event Coordination: Plan and execute orientations, retreats, seminars, graduations, and other program events.
- Financial Management: Monitor budgets, track expenses, and process reimbursements and purchasing requests.
- Division Projects: Support academic and compliance initiatives such as annual reviews, OPPE/FPPE submissions, and academic reporting.
- Communications: Prepare program handbooks, promotional materials, and recruitment resources.
- Liaison Role: Serve as a key contact among fellows, residents, faculty, hospital staff, and external partners.

High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
