Job Title: Executive Director - Elementary Education
Wage/Hour Status: Exempt/At-Will

Primary Purpose:
The Executive Director of Elementary Schools provides dynamic and strategic leadership to ensure the success of all elementary campuses within the district. The role is responsible for supervising and supporting campus administrators, aligning leadership practices with our district's mission, vision, and goals, and fostering high-performing learning environments. This leader works collaboratively across departments to implement initiatives that drive academic excellence, equity, and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
Education/Certification:
Master's Degree in Educational Leadership or related field (Doctorate preferred).
Valid Texas Principal Certification.
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Deep understanding of instructional leadership, school improvement, and accountability systems (TTESS/TPESS).
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively across departments and build consensus.
Expertise in professional development design and facilitation.
Experience:
Minimum of five years of successful campus principal experience, preferably in elementary education.
Demonstrated success in coaching, supervising, and evaluating school leaders.
Experience leading district-wide initiatives and working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Supervise elementary school principals.
Working Conditions:

Prolonged use of computer; position regularly requires work outside the normal work day/week; must be able to push, pull, lift, and/or carry at least 30 pounds; frequent in district travel.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Provide direct, differentiated coaching and professional guidance to campus principals and administrators.
- Supervise elementary principals using the Texas Principal Evaluation and Support System (T-PESS).
- Conduct formal evaluations and ensure adherence to performance expectations.
- Facilitate individualized and team-based problem-solving for school leaders.
- Observe and provide actionable feedback through walkthroughs and formal observations in coordination with T-TESS and TIA expectations.
- Plan and deliver targeted professional development and training opportunities for campus leadership teams.
- Coordinate and facilitate monthly leadership meetings for principals and assistant principals.
- Oversee induction and mentoring programs for all new campus administrators.
- Develop and maintain a weekly newsletter to share resources, best practices, and district updates with campus leaders.
- Participate and collaborate in the hiring and selection process for elementary school principals and assistant principals.
- Implement and support onboarding processes and ongoing support structures for new campus leaders.
- Support principals with staff performance concerns, including documentation and progressive discipline processes.
- Serve as a district-level support resource for grievance-related issues (DGBA, FNG), as applicable.
- Assist in the ongoing development and implementation of district leadership pipeline programs.
- Serve as a conduit between campus leadership and central office departments to ensure clarity and consistency.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure campus needs are addressed in areas such as curriculum, special programs, operations, and finance.
- Represent elementary schools on district-level committees, including MTSS, QDAC, and University Partnership Committees.
- Manage the opening and closure of schools and programs, ensuring timely communication and alignment with district policies.
- Coordinate the annual campus event calendar to minimize scheduling conflicts and promote district-wide cohesion.
- Provide administrative oversight for elementary summer school programs, including hiring and supervision of summer administrators.
- Promote and support increased vertical alignment between elementary schools and secondary campuses.
- Attend and contribute to campus PLCs, faculty meetings, staff development sessions, and College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) initiatives.
- Conduct and coordinate district-wide calibration walks to ensure instructional consistency and T-TESS alignment.
- Maintain high visibility across campuses and attend key school functions as needed.
- Ensure that campus administrators are supported in fostering inclusive, effective, and collaborative school environments.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designee.
Supervise elementary school principals.
