This position will offer you the opportunity to work in a project team environment with other engineers and designers involved in the design, modification, and analysis of new and existing nuclear power plant electrical systems.
You will work on interesting and challenging projects that include investigating, troubleshooting, and solving a wide variety of electrical engineering issues.
Responsibilities include:
+ Prepare and review engineering design change packages to install, replace or upgrade existing plant equipment to ensure long-term equipment reliability,
+ Prepare and review detailed engineering calculations in support of design change packages, including AC and DC power studies, short circuit, cable ampacity, voltage drop, breaker coordination, motor starting and protective relay settings.
+ Prepare and review equipment procurement specifications,
+ Participate in bid review evaluation process for potential equipment vendors, to include supporting vendor requests for additional information, developing responses to vendor questions, and maintaining a tracking mechanism for questions/responses,
+ Prepare and review scoping documents for conceptual designs, to include constructability reviews,
+ Interface with project team members from other engineering and design disciplines (Mechanical, Structural, Civil, I&C),
+ Interface with the client in support of the project, including implementing personnel,
+ Interface with vendors to perform document reviews and provide written comment,
+ Attend client meetings and site field walkdowns to validate scope and ensure client satisfaction
+ Travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews and to plant site locations for construction coordination and field verification of designs
+ Support site installation activities during project implementation,
+ Assist the S&L project manager to ensure projects are completed satisfactorily, on time, and within budget,
+ Responsible for overall technical, financial, and administrative performance of the engineering scope by:
+ Initiating and conveying scope of work to project team members
+ Defining deliverables (i.e. calcs, specs, drawings, design change etic.)
+ Reviewing status and tracking progress of team members to maintain project scope/budget and keep client informed.
+ Routine status meetings
+ Submitting progress reports
+ Tracking and resolving open items and emergent project issues,
+ Coordinating completion of project deliverables

Essential skills and experience:
+ An electrical engineering degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program
+ Five or more years' experience in the design of electrical engineering systems in a project team environment for industrial applications, with a focus on design for existing nuclear power plants
+ Experience in the selection of equipment, materials, and the preparation and assembling of engineering design change packages, calculations, and specifications
+ Experience with electrical system design including low and medium voltage distribution systems (transformers, generators, motor, relays, etc.)
+ Effective written and verbal communication skills to convey information to project team members and client
+ Detail oriented approach to work
+ Capable of being badged for unescorted access to a nuclear power station

**Job Description**
AECOM is seeking a HIGHWAY ENGINEERING DESIGN TASK LEAD to be based in Eastern Pennsylvania. AECOM has offices in Mechanicsburg, Philadelphia and Conshohocken, PA. This is a HYBRID position and additional office locations may be considered.
In this role, you will provide technical leadership and design coordination to highway engineering designers and associate task leads working on medium to large scale transportation projects in the Greater Pennsylvania Area.
If you are experienced in developing the highway design technical approach, quantities and pricing, while providing technical guidance and oversight to associate highway task leads and designers working under your direction, then this will be a great fit. In this role, you will also coordinate with other project discipline design leads, the highway engineering technical lead or engineering manager, and the project manager to advance project scope and deliverables.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
+ Technical guidance and verification of design criteria, horizontal and vertical alignments, superelevation, barrier/guiderail design, and spot elevation details
+ Technical guidance and verification of rigid and flexible pavement designs
+ Technical guidance and verification of signing and pavement marking plans and details
+ Technical guidance and verification of construction phasing plans and maintenance of traffic based on interdisciplinary coordination and constructability reviews
+ Technical guidance and verification of coordinated utility conflict resolutions based on interdisciplinary constructability reviews, client feedback, and utility needs
+ Technical guidance and verification of construction specifications, quantities, and cost estimates
+ Technical guidance and verification of 3D Model in OpenRoads
+ Technical guidance and verification of technical calculations and reports per client and/or internal AECOM standards
+ Adhere to and promote AECOM quality procedures
+ Verify completion of interdisciplinary technical reviews
+ Contribute to internal project-related staffing decisions to facilitate meeting client schedule, scope, and budget.
+ Contribute to the development of proposals and other marketing efforts to win new work.
+ Prepare presentations that explain technical findings, recommendations, and limitations

* STATE RD RECONSTRUCTION (Bucks County, PA) - Suburban arterial reconstruction including right-of-way plan development, roadway geometry, pavement design, traffic control, and utility coordination in preliminary engineering to mitigate existing roadway flooding
* SR1 RECONSTRUCTION (Chester County, PA) - Freeway reconstruction including profile adjustments, interchange reconstruction, interchange ramp realignments, multiple roundabout designs, trail designs, and side road alignment adjustments.
* I-81 RECONSTRUCTION (Avoca, Moosic, and Scranton, PA) - Urban Interstate reconstruction including mainline widening, 2 interchanges being fully reconstructed including ramp realignments, intersection improvements, right-of- way coordination, and structure coordination for 15 bridges along mainline and ramps.
**Qualifications**
**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering plus six (6) years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, with highway transportation projects located in the United States
+ Professional Engineering License (PE) in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, or ability to obtain reciprocity/comity based on active licensure in another state
+ Design experience working on projects for PennDOT, Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, SEPTA, and/or City of Philadelphia
+ Valid US Driver's License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices
+ As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review
+ Demonstrated knowledge of OpenRoads Designer (ORD)
**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering plus ten (10) years of related experience with highway transportation projects located in the United States
+ Design experience working on projects for Delaware River Port Authority (DRPA) and/or Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission (DRJTBC).
+ Ability and willingness to work within a hybrid environment with hybrid teams
+ Ability and willingness to offer mentorship to various levels of staff
+ Active participation in local professional societies and/or organizations

The candidate will assist in completing assignments independently, as well as working closely with other engineering and design team members to fulfill different roles across multiple projects.
**Key Responsibilities**
+ Develop electrical substation drawings including single line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, physical layouts, sections and elevations, and other related details and sketches
+ Perform design calculations and analysis such as grounding system analysis, lightning protection, voltage drop, power system sizing (AC and DC), and other industry-standard calculations
+ Review and perform formal QA/QC services on drawings performed by others and provide feedback to team members
+ Develop technical equipment and construction specifications, work scopes, estimates, and recommendationreports as needed by the project
+ Work closely with Civil Engineers to develop foundation and structure drawings, including mounting patterns and equipment layouts
+ Perform site visits and provide on-site technical support during construction and commissioning
+ Mentoring and teaching junior engineers and technicians
+ Assist in the preparation of proposals including cost estimates, description of project approach, and scheduling
+ Lead and/or take part in meetings with representatives from clients and other engineering firms
+ Develop strong relationships andestablish trusted partnerships with clients.
**Education & Experience**
+ Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
+ Professional Engineering License preferred
+ 8 - 12 years' experience in electrical design involving power systems.
**Qualifications**
+ Must be 18 years of age or older
+ Strong technical writing skills
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team
+ Comfortable meeting face to face with clients,strong communication skills both written and verbal
+ Experience with Protection and Control design, including familiarity with one-line diagrams of several different station configurations
+ Ability to read a one-line andascertain a high-level understanding of the station or facility question
+ Familiarity with ANSI, IEEE, NEC, NEMA, and other industry standards and their applicability todifferent types of substations
+ Ability to use drafting software(s) preferred
+ Ability and willingness to work occasional extra hours to support clients and deadlines, including weekends
+ Must be proficient with typical office software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Windows
