The FAA's National Airspace System (NAS) Enterprise Services Group (AJW‑17) serves as the Office of Primary Responsibility for second-level engineering and operational support of enterprise-level systems in the NAS. Providing 24/7 technical assistance, AJW‑17 ensures vital NAS systems operate safely, reliably, and securely by managing trouble tickets, troubleshooting system failures, resolving performance issues, and overseeing lifecycle maintenance activities. Noblis is seeking an experienced and highly motivated **Software Engineers** to join our team. This role is responsible for software engineering and development for the FAA's Enterprise Information Display System (E-IDS), a BNATCS System, that supports Air Traffic Controllers in their decision making directing aircraft. E-IDS will be in locations across the nation, supporting 5,000 Air Traffic Control positions.

This role is critical to the planning and integration of renewables, storage, and FACTS to the electrical grid and to perform large-scale simulations of electrical transmission systems for clients such as power producers, independent system operators, and transmission providers to develop solutions for safe and reliable power system operations.
**This is a remote position based in the Contiguous U.S.**

+ Perform transmission planning through the application of power systems planning principles to simulate and analyze the power system steady state and dynamic behavior.
+ Prepare detailed written reports describing analyses performed, conclusions, and recommendations.
+ Work in small project teams, ensuring deliverables are of high quality and projects are completed within budget and schedule.
+ Develop automation scripts to improve the speed and accuracy of simulations and analysis.
+ Support proposal preparation by developing project plans, budgets, and timelines.
+ Deliver on-site technical consulting/training services.

**Basic qualifications:**
+ Master's degree in electrical engineering with a specialization in Power and Energy Systems
+ A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in the electric power industry (beyond academia: professional power systems work at a consulting firm, utility, national lab, ISO, RTO, etc.)
+ Candidate must have knowledge of transmission system planning or operations with experience analyzing power flow and dynamic stability using PSS®E, TARA, or TSAT.
+ Ability to travel 10% domestically.
**Preferred qualifications:**
+ Prior experience in Power System Consulting.
+ Transmission system planning or operations experience in MISO or SPP footprints.
+ Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power and Energy Systems.
