Job Type: Contract Pay: $35 to $0 Per Hour BOE Responsibilities: Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems including conduit, lighting fixtures, electrical panels, transformers, switches, motors, and systems. Troubleshoot electrical issues and perform corrective actions to minimize downtime. Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical systems. Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams. Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits using various testing devices. Install and maintain control panels, motors, transformers, generators, and lighting systems. Ensure compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC), local codes, and company safety standards. Document work performed, maintain accurate maintenance records, and update equipment logs. Collaborate with maintenance, production, and engineering teams to support operational goals. Assist in the design and improvement of electrical systems and processes. Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in clean and safe condition. Install, bend, and remove conduit to accommodate wiring needs. Pull electrical wiring through conduit and connect it to circuit breakers, transformers, and outlets. Qualifications: Minimum of 5 years of industrial electrical experience required. Possession of necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) and hand tools. Dependable and punctual, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC) standards. Reliable Transportation. Must be available to travel extensively (up to 100%) within regional states, including overnight stays for up to weeks at a time if required. Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check. Possess and maintain a valid driver's license that represents a history of safe & competent driving. Physical Requirements: Must have manual dexterity, a good sense of balance, and excellent hand-eye coordination. Use their hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Must be able to climb stairs, ladders, and poles. Must be physically capable of pulling wires and cables through conduits. Must be able to work in inclement weather conditions. Must be able to work around wood dust and fumes. Maybe exposed to heights and loud noises. Must be able to see color to discern color-coded wiring. Must be aware of OSHA safety standards. Must be able to sit, stand, kneel, stoop, walk, and sit for long periods of time. Must be capable of working in inclement conditions including extreme hot and cold temperatures. Must be physically capable of manually digging and back-filling holes and trenches. Must be physically capable of lifting and carrying up to 80 lbs. Pay Transparency The anticipated salary range for this position is 35 to 50 Per Hour, based on relevant factors such as experience, skills, education, internal equity, and geographic location. This position allows for a hybrid work schedule with a mix of work spent in office and working remote from home .
+ This position will offer you the opportunity to work in a project team environment in the design, modification, and/or upgrade of new and existing power plant electrical systems
+ Under the direction of the Electrical Project Lead, you will work with multi-disciplined engineering and design project teams in the development of the following:
+ Single-line diagrams
+ Relay and metering diagrams
+ AC and DC schematic diagrams
+ Synchronizing diagrams
+ Point to point wiring diagrams
+ Cable schedules
+ You will produce electrical wiring drawings, and review and incorporate vendor drawings into the overall project design.
+ There will be opportunities to accompany and assist in field walkdowns and data gathering at client facilities.
+ Capable of being badged for unescorted access to a nuclear station.
Qualifications

Essential skills and experience:
+ An Associate's Degree in drafting, or a high school diploma and equivalent technical design experience
+ 10+ years of detailed wiring design experience in the development of single-line, and relay and metering diagrams, including medium-voltage and 480V systems
+ Familiarity with digital control systems
+ The ability to perform the following:
+ Produce wiring diagrams and schematics for installers and electricians
+ Assist engineers with initial design requirements
+ Conceptualize plans and details to accurately convey wiring termination requirements
+ Extensive AutoCAD and/or Microstation design experience on power plants or large facility projects
+ A thorough understanding of drafting and design practices and theories
+ The ability to interface and communicate with engineering and design teams of other disciplines in the power plant design process

+ Sargent & Lundy's Nuclear Group continues to grow and are currently working on projects such as Advanced Reactor designs, Renewables, and Small Modular Reactors, while continuing to support existing nuclear clients throughout the country. We are looking for experienced designers with solid knowledge of electrical raceway and hanger designs (conduit & cable trays), cable management and equipment/component locating and mounting.
+ This position will offer you the opportunity to utilize and expand your drafting skills, while working in a multi-disciplined team environment with other designers and/or engineers in the preparation of design drawings based on design input
+ If required, you will have the opportunity to apply your computer-aided drafting skills, while receiving hands-on training in 3D design software environments, such as AutoCAD 3D and/or MicroStation.
+ You will be required to create drawings to scale showing relation of proposed installations to existing facilities and exact specifications and dimensions
+ You should have experience performing walkdowns in operating nuclear plants, being you may be required to accompany and assist other designers on walkdowns at operating client facilities to gather information for your design project
+ While interfacing with vendors and construction contractors, you may be given the opportunity to explain your drawings so appropriate design adjustments can be made
Qualifications

+ 8+ years drafting/design experience using standard computer drafting tools (i.e. AutoCAD or MicroStation)

+ Knowledge of EDISON or other cable management software.
+ Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of technical plans, drawings, and models
