Primary Responsibilities:

Contribute multi-craft skills as required to assist in or complete assigned work orders
Take initiative to contribute to the mill goals of Safety/Housekeeping, Quality, Cost, Production
Support of maintenance-related operations during maintenance scheduled shutdowns or urgent repairs as needed

Running conduit from 1/2'" to 3", pulling wire, run cable tray, installing electrical panel and junction box, running instrument tubing ¼" to 1"
Variable Frequency Drives for low- and medium-voltage equipment. Configure and troubleshoot using local interface and communication software
Programming Logic Controller, including communication software; perform programming tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

Experience with high-voltage (up to 13.8kv); MCC (VFD) PLC & DCS (Siemens & Allen Bradley)
Minimum of 5 years Journeyman electrician experience in heavy industrial environment
Demonstrated competence in heavy industrial continuous-process environment (ex. oil refinery, chemical plant, power plant, etc.).
Work with light mechanical work required to support multi-craft maintenance needs
Education: Technical/other training in Electronics Technology preferred

This position is eligible for annual bonus compensation with a target payout of 5% of the base salary. As the Instrumentation/Electrical Technician, under minimal direction of management or other employees, would safely perform and guide the repair, replacement, installation, inspection, enhancement, optimization, testing and troubleshooting of all facilities, processing and/or production equipment.

Who You Are & What You'll Do

  • All activities must be performed in strict compliance with Unilever standards and safety guidelines.

  • Define, select, requisition and expedite parts and materials while following approved procedures. Inspect used parts to determine the mode of failure and recommend countermeasures to prevent future problems. Perform all tasks and responsibilities in a fashion that assures personal safety and the safety of others and equipment.

  • Effectively communicate with others by presenting information, responding to questions, and seeking feedback/input.

  • Effectively works and participates in a team environment.

  • Actively participate and/or lead in project initiatives and selected cross-functional teams as approved.

What You'll Need to Succeed

  • High school diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent in experience

  • Associates/Bachelor's degree preferred

  • 2-3+ years of verifiable electrical maintenance experience.

  • Extensive controls, PLC's and automation knowledge and experience

  • Considerable experience with drives and high voltage is also required.

  • Working knowledge of mechanical systems is a plus.

  • Effective troubleshooting skills are a must.

  • Must be proficient with using electrical measuring devices (multimeters, amprobes, meggers etc.) and electrical schematics to determine the source of the problem.

  • Must be able to display manual dexterity and perform all physical demands as outlined in the job description.

The Electro-Mechanic Technician performs project management duties, maintenance and repairs of all pneumatic machines and line equipment.

**Senior Electrical Systems Technician**
Xylem is seeking a Senior Electrical Systems Technician to join our multi-disciplinary regional teams. The technician will collaborate with Territory Managers, Applications Engineers, Project Engineers, and Project Managers to support the execution of engineered-to-order projects. This role requires full ownership of on-site activities related to electrical and software design and implementation.
Key Responsibilities:
+ **Site Operations:**
+ Perform and oversee on-site project commissioning for domestic and international projects.
+ Validate system readiness through Factory Acceptance Testing.
+ Conduct safety audits and enforce safety practices with Stop Work Authority.
+ Coordinate on-site activities with third-party contractors and engineering consultants.
+ **Technical Skills and Support:**
+ Provide start-up and troubleshooting for Xylem Treatment products including Sanitaire, Leopold, and Flygt.
+ Utilize expert-level programming skills for PLC & HMI systems (e.g., Allen Bradley, Siemens, Schneider).
+ Engage in SCADA system integration within and beyond the Xylem control network.
+ **Customer Engagement:**
+ Act as Xylem's customer-facing representative.
+ Identify additional revenue opportunities on-site.
+ Provide virtual and phone support for direct customer interactions.
+ **Training and Development:**
+ Conduct product training for plant operations and maintenance staff.
+ Mentor and coach new employees and existing Xylem staff.
+ **Travel Requirement:**
+ Maintain a significant travel schedule to project sites, supplier factories, and technical conferences both domestically and internationally.
+ Must be willing to travel both domestically and internationally
Qualifications:
+ **Required:**
+ Associate or technical degree in Electrical, or five years of equivalent experience.
+ Experience with electrical systems testing and on-site execution.
+ Competency with MS Word, Excel, and internet functions.
+ Strong communication skills and ability to interpret complex engineering drawings.
+ **Preferred:**
+ Electrician or Master Electrician license.
+ Field wiring and mechanical assembly skills.
Additional Information:
+ **Physical Demands:**
+ Regular physical activity, including lifting 50 lbs and using trade tools.
+ Ability to wear PPE in construction environments.
+ **Work Environment:**
+ Office and on-site settings, with potential exposure to mechanical, electrical, and chemical hazards.

The estimated pay range for this position is $32-37. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience, and work location. The position works primary with instrumentation, sensors, PLCs/controls, and low-voltage systems, etc, and focus on maintenance and troubleshooting.

Position:
  • Troubleshooting, calibration, and maintenance of pneumatic, electronic, analog, and digital process control instrumentation.
  • Use, interpret, etc, wiring and instrumentation diagrams
  • Troubleshooting, maintenance and (some) repair of low voltage systems: wiring, motors, distribution, actuators, sensors, etc
  • Troubleshoot systems utilizing Schematic Wiring Diagrams (SWD) and Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID) as they relate to process control.
  • Extensive work with ProCal and site CMMS.
  • Troubleshoot, maintenance and calibration of process monitoring and analytical systems
  • "Hands-on" work - both alone and as part of the team
Required:
  • HS degree/equivalent
  • Associates degree +/- apprenticeships very much appreciated

We are looking for an experienced Electrical and Instrumentation Maintenance Technician to join our team at Alsip MiniMill in Alsip, IL. Ideal candidate will be a highly motivated industrial maintenance technician who thrives in a heavy industrial environment with a desire to achieve meaningful goals while growing professionally in a company committed to safety and quality. Primary Responsibilities:
  • Work safely at all times and perform necessary housekeeping. Keep personal safety and safety of others as the first goal and top priority at all times
  • Contribute multi-craft skills as required to assist in or complete assigned work orders
  • Must be able to work any shift including the Dupont 12 Rotating Schedule
  • As an active member of our goal-directed team, take initiative to contribute to the mill goals of Safety/Housekeeping, Quality, Cost, Production
  • Support of maintenance-related operations during maintenance scheduled shut downs or urgent mill repairs as assigned
  • Work from prints, diagrams, schematics, specifications, instructions, operations manuals, and manufacturer's manuals and specifications to perform scheduled and emergency repairs
  • Install, maintain, inspect, troubleshoot and repair the following:
    • Mill-wide electrical power systems involving AC voltages including 480, 2400, and 13,800
    • Mill hydraulic and pneumatic systems
    • Working on Process Instrumentation Controls, for example: valves, level temperature, flow, PH, conductivity, and consistency transmitters
    • Running conduit from 1/2'" to 3", pulling wire, run cable tray, installing electrical panel and junction box, running instrument tubing ¼" to 1"
    • Variable Frequency Drives for low- and medium-voltage equipment. Configure and troubleshoot using local interface and communication software
    • Programming Logic Controller, including communication software; perform programming tasks as assigned
Minimum Education Experience/Qualifications:
  • Experience with high-voltage (up to 13.8kv); MCC (VFD) PLC & DCS (Siemens & Allen Bradley)
  • Minimum of 5 years Journeyman electrician experience in heavy industrial environment
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Demonstrated competence in heavy industrial continuous-process environment (i.e., oil refinery, chemical plant, power plant, etc.)
  • Experience in understanding/complying with OSHA regulations, safety codes, and safety practices including but not limited to: arc flash, LO/TO, fall protection, hot work, pre-job hazard analysis, etc.
  • Competence in light mechanical work required to support multi-craft maintenance needs
  • Education: Technical/other training in Electronics Technology preferred
