This role is critical for designing, developing, and implementing complex electrical power systems for a variety of infrastructure and industrial projects. You will be responsible for leading engineering teams, overseeing design documentation, ensuring system reliability and safety, and managing client relationships. - Lead the electrical design of power systems, including generation, transmission, distribution, and protection.
- Develop system designs, specifications, single-line diagrams, and control schematics.
- Oversee the selection and integration of electrical equipment such as transformers, switchgear, generators, and UPS systems.
- Ensure designs comply with national and local electrical codes, standards (e.g., NEC, IEEE), and client requirements.
- Conduct power system studies, including load flow, short circuit, arc flash, and protection coordination analysis.
- Manage electrical design projects, including scope, budget, schedule, and resource allocation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams, project managers, and clients to achieve project goals.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior electrical engineers and design staff.
- Review and approve electrical drawings, specifications, and submittals from contractors.
- Stay current with advancements in power system technologies, renewable energy integration, and grid modernization.
- Perform site inspections and provide construction support, responding to RFIs and resolving field issues.
- Assist in business development efforts, including proposal preparation and client presentations.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Ensure adherence to safety regulations and quality standards throughout the design and construction process.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical system problems and develop effective solutions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in electrical engineering, with a specialization in power systems.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
- Proven experience leading electrical design and engineering teams for complex projects.
- Deep knowledge of power system analysis software (e.g., ETAP, PSS/E, SKM).
- Expertise in power distribution, protection relays, substation design, and grounding systems.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and other relevant electrical design tools.
- Excellent understanding of relevant codes and standards (NEC, IEEE, NESC).
- Strong project management, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Experience with renewable energy systems and grid interconnection is a plus.
