SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Quality Control Inspector plays a key role in supporting the site quality program by conducting inspections and surveillance to verify compliance with project requirements, applicable codes, standards, and specifications. This position is essential to ensuring project deliverables meet client quality expectations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Review and understand project technical requirements, including the prime contract, applicable codes, standards, and specifications.
- Conduct regular inspections and surveillance of construction activities to verify compliance with project quality standards.
- Document inspection results and report any non-conformance or quality issues.
- Support quality audits and assist in gathering necessary documentation for audit activities.
- Provide input and recommendations on quality-related issues or improvements within assigned areas.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of inspections and quality-related activities.
- Follow all site safety, quality, and environmental policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Accredited two (2) or three (3) year Technical or Engineering Technology diploma, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality control, preferably in construction or industrial project environments.
- Industry certifications preferred, such as: ASNT (American Society for Nondestructive Testing, AWS (American Welding Society), API (American Petroleum Institute) or NACE (National Association of Corrosion Engineers).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Place Services, Inc. has an immediate need for a Quality Control Manager (QCM) for our Federal Division in Columbus, OH
The QCM will be responsible for overseeing the onsite daily quality control and safety of PSI Federal Construction projects.
Responsibilities
- Supervise, inspect and ensure seamless day-to-day schedules and operations of PSI and partner employees and subcontractors
- Serve as the PSI onsite Construction Quality Control (CQC)
- Complete all required on-site paperwork. Coordinate site access for all project stakeholders
- Coordinate construction project schedules and operations with subcontractors and PSI employees
- Represent PSI with professionalism and integrity
- Schedule, manage, and assist, as needed, subcontractors
- Set expectations of subcontractors and hold them accountable for quality and safety
- Provide direct accountability for contract submittals and processes
- Complete reports and documentation required or requested by management
- Inspect and secure job site to prevent damages and theft
- Ensure a safe work environment by following and enforcing OSHA safety standards. Ensure OSHA compliance

Qualifications

- Intermediate computer skills including Word, Excel, Outlook
- Must be computer savvy with spreadsheets, sending pictures, Excel & Word programs
- Ability to be onsite daily during required working hours and travel as required and have a valid US driver’s license.
- Able to pass a background check for project site access
- OSHA 30 (preferred) & CPR training or certification with USACE EM 385-1 experience or certification.
- Must be able to identify hazards and always ensure safety compliance.
- Highly desired to have current USACE Construction Quality Management (CQM) certification or be able to obtain it within 90 days of hire
- Previous experience as a Construction Site Superintendent, Quality Control Manager, and SSHO on medium to highly complex Federal or Public construction projects
- Minimum 10-years of experience in a construction role with 5 of those years in a QC role on complex commercial or federal projects. Demonstrated experience and success with Quality Control and Site Safety and Health processes. Preferred recent experience on USACE and/or NAVFAC construction projects and processes
- Graduate of Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management degree program
