Job Description
Achievement First (AF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting 39 public charter schools across New York, Connecticut, and Rhode Island. For over 25 years, AF has earned recognition as one of the top tuition-free public charter school networks in the country. We are passionate about creating schools of academic excellence within nurturing environments, preparing students to be college-ready and succeed in whatever paths they choose in life.
The majority of AF students are Black and Latinx children from low-income families, many of whom will be the first in their families to graduate from college. Across our network, we employ over 2,200 staff members, 64% of whom identify as Black, Indigenous, or People of Color, collectively educating nearly 15,000 students. Our mission is to ensure every student excels in college, career, and life while deepening their understanding of self and community.
We are seeking a Senior Associate of Talent Acquisition to join our Recruitment team for a one-year contract. Utilize platforms like Handshake, SelectEd, LinkedIn, and Indeed to attract New York applicants. Build relationships with local universities and mission-aligned organizations. Conduct data analysis to guide recruitment strategies and re-engage previous candidates.
- Campus Ambassador Program: Lead our Campus Ambassador Program that promotes brand awareness and recruitment among top education talent at universities. Oversee the entire program, manage ambassadors, track metrics, and work with internal teams on event materials.
- Referral Programming: Visit New York AF Schools to promote the Referral Program, aiming to increase referral applications, and coordinate with Selection Talent Partners on referral strategies.
- Event Planning & Support: Independently plan and execute recruitment events, from career fairs to workshops. Manage event logistics and budgets while representing Achievement First with professionalism.
- Job Postings: Maintain a systematic approach to ensure visibility of our job postings. Manage monthly job board postings for 120+ positions, and explore new job posting platforms to enhance teacher recruitment.
- Digital Marketing: Collaborate with the Senior Director of Talent Outreach to leverage digital marketing strategies, including social media and online ads, to engage prospective candidates.

- Strong technology skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organization.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a proactive style.
- A belief in the mission and educational model of Achievement First.

- Twice a month to NY AF Schools
- Twice a month for regional travel
