Martignetti Companies is the leading distributor of wine, spirits, and beer in New England. From our Taunton Office, our Human Resources team supports approximately 1,700 employees at peak times. The Human Resources Manager position is eligible for our hybrid work arrangement, which includes three days per week in our Taunton office and two days remote.
Key Accountabilities:
- Lead the company's talent acquistion process from requisition to candidate to employee. Develop the candidate experience to ensure continuity through all recruitment sources (job postings, career fairs, website, interview process, etc.) and train management to ensure alignment.

For more information about a career with us, please watch the video below: "Career in Blood" video Responsibilities Talent Acquisition Responsible for execution of full-cycle recruitment and hiring process; requisition management, sourcing, screening, interviewing, evaluation, offer, pre-employment screening and pre-boarding activities. Provides counsel and guidance to managers during talent acquisition and workplace planning process. Identify qualified candidates through creative and unique sourcing strategies; job postings, prescreen candidates, presenting to managers, scheduling interviews and associated testing. Manage contractor requests, including receiving the requests, contacting staffing vendors, providing job requirements and ensure hiring managers are satisfied with the quality of candidates provided. Employee Relations Manages workers compensation claims, disability claims and unemployment insurance claims by processing forms and attending appeal hearings as necessary. Site level leadership on employee engagement and culture programs to ensure high levels of employee retention. Collect feedback and ideas on how to improve employee morale and decrease turnover. Meets frequently with line managers to discuss HR topics such as policy compliance/interpretation, team dynamics, employee engagement, and other supervisory topics. Site level management of employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and employee relations investigations. Provides site level interpretation and feedback regarding local implications of employment policies, programs and guidelines. Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. New Employee Orientation Coordinates and facilitates New Employee Orientation to include scheduling, preparing new hire folders and securing presentations. Instructs new hires on completion of employment paperwork and benefits enrollment. Administers other new hire tasks such as security badge printing, parking passes, etc. Communicates key components of employee benefits to New Hires and staff during NEO and Annual Open Enrollment HR Administration Collects required documentation and assists with processing of new hires, leaves, compensation changes, terminations, and all status changes. Ensures the integrity of the HR data and timeline Qualifications Education: Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business or related field . We are excited to be expanding our HR team due to the incredible growth our company has had! We are looking to bring on a Human Resources Generalist to help foster a positive, engaging, and compliant workplace culture. The ideal candidate for this role will have 5-7 years of proven HR experience, preferably with a background in employee relations and benefits, and will work closely with managers, teachers, and corporate staff across the organization. This person should be highly detail-oriented, up to date on employment law, and HR certification is a plus.
This position is virtual, with occasional travel (once a month) to our corporate office in Plymouth, MA.
Responsibilities include:
- Advise managers and staff on employment law, HR policies, and compliance requirements, ensuring all engagement initiatives adhere to current legal standards.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for employee relations issues, offering guidance and support to managers, teachers, and staff across the organization.
- Organize and manage employee recognition strategies and initiatives to promote a cohesive and inclusive culture. Monitor and report on the effectiveness of engagement initiatives, providing insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
- Maintain accurate records, documentation, and reports related to engagement activities, employee relations cases, and compliance matters.
- Support the HR team in administration of employee benefits programs, respond to employee benefits inquiries, and support open enrollment processes.
- Conduct regular employee surveys, analyze results and recommend actionable improvements to leadership.
- In tandem with Payroll, coordinate employee accommodation requests and leave of absence processes in compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Update and maintain employee handbooks and update other company materials as needed.
- Stay current on HR best practices, trends, and legal updates; pursue ongoing professional development and HR certification opportunities as appropriate.
- 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm
- Virtual position with required travel to Plymouth, MA corporate office once a month

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, organizational psychology, or related field required
- 5-7 years of HR experience, demonstrating strong knowledge of employee relations, benefits management, and payroll administration
- Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state employment law and HR compliance
- Meticulous attention to detail and follow-through; perform tasks with a high degree of accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness
- Ability to effectively manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment and produce accurate ad hoc reports to support data-driven decision-making
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving abilities
- Experience working with diverse teams, including managers, educators, and corporate staff
- HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) preferred
