This is a unique opportunity to play a key technical role in a business thats driving the future of distributed energy and low-carbon power systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the design, commissioning, and optimization of CHP, battery energy storage (BESS), and solar generation systems.
  • Conduct technical performance reviews and lead troubleshooting on operational issues across multiple technologies.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and third-party contractors to ensure timely and high-quality project delivery.
  • Develop and maintain preventative maintenance programs for hybrid energy systems.
  • Lead system integration and interface with SCADA, inverters, and control platforms.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards at all times.
  • Stay ahead of industry developments and contribute to innovation in decentralized energy delivery.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of engineering experience in CHP, solar PV, battery storage, or related power generation environments.
  • Degree-qualified in Electrical, Mechanical, or Energy Engineering (PE license preferred but not required).
  • Hands-on knowledge of control systems, switchgear, inverters, and grid-tied technologies.
  • Experience working with energy management systems (EMS), SCADA platforms, or DERMS a strong plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving, project management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to travel locally across New Orleans and surrounding areas as needed.
  • Valid U.S. Drivers License.

We're seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager (PM) with experience in power generation systems and turbine technology to lead and manage complex infrastructure improvement and system installation projects from start to finish. This includes managing subcontractors, contract negotiations, client expectations, dispute resolution, estimating/procurement, schedule production, and various services and processes pertaining to client contracted agreements.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Management & Execution
  • Serve as the primary point of contact and owner's representative on assigned power generation/turbine projects.

  • Oversee the development and execution of project plans including SSRs, cash flow projections, cost controls, and schedule milestones.

Financial Oversight & Cost Control
  • Develop and maintain detailed project budgets, Job Cost Reports, and monthly forecasts.
  • Review contractor proposals, prepare cost estimates, and evaluate pricing for change orders, EWOs, SWAs, and PCOs.
  • Monitor all financial aspects including pay applications, cash flow analysis, and ensure projects remain within budget.
  • Prepare documentation for contract awards, amendments, and funding adjustments.
  • Oversee the change management process; assist owners with development and implementation of design changes and project team with analysis and recommendations regarding architect, equipment suppliers, and contractor change order requests. Review all change orders before being sent to the owner and other relevant stakeholders.
Contract & Document Administration
  • Manage all project documentation including submittals, RFI's, RFP's, correspondence, change orders, and contract amendments.
  • Maintain a full understanding of job contracts, scopes of work, and contract compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with internal reporting procedures related to budgets, contracts, and quality.
Procurement & Buyout
  • Drive the procurement process by issuing and managing all subcontracts and purchase orders, ensuring strategic alignment with scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to perform project buyouts, identify cost-saving opportunities, and mitigate risks.
Team Leadership & Support
  • Supervise and mentor Assistant Project Managers (APMs) and provide leadership to field teams when required.
  • Support training and onboarding of new project staff and junior PMs across assigned projects.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Building Science, or related field. Master degree is a plus.
  • Experience: 10+ years of experience in project management within the power generation or energy sector, specifically with gas/steam turbines, combined cycle plants, or renewable systems.
  • Preferred Skills:
  • Proven ability to lead multi-million-dollar infrastructure or energy projects.
  • Strong understanding of turbine systems, commissioning processes, and OEM coordination.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and client-facing skills.
  • Experience with turbine OEMs such as GE, Siemens, or Mitsubishi.
  • Familiarity with EPC project environments and contract negotiation.
  • Knowledge of construction safety, FERC/NERC compliance, and utility coordination.
  • Language : Proficiency in both English and Spanish is preferred.

Working Conditions:

Entergy's Power Generation group operates a fleet of more than 30 owned, leased, or operated natural gas, coal, oil hydro and petroleum coke plants, with total engineering capacity of over 18,500 megawatts and is building or acquiring more than 3,000 megawatts of new natural gas generation to join its 30,000 megawatts of nuclear, natural gas, coal, oil, hydroelectric and solar facilities.
***This position can be filled by a Maintenance Operator, Maintenance Operator III, Maintenance Operator, or Mechanical Technician based on the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate***
**JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE:**
Perform routine maintenance tasks and available for unscheduled call outs.
**JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:**
+ Primary skill is a Journeyman Machinist/Millwright capable of operating machine tool equipment which includes a bridgeport and lathe
+ Also responsible for performing large and small equipment alignment
+ Welding may be required along with some other multi-skill activities
+ During unit outages, provide contractor management, quality control, cost management and schedule management
+ Perform other maintenance multi skill activities which includes minor electrical, instrument and controls work/inspection/repair
+ Identify, troubleshoot and diagnose equipment problems
+ Applies understanding of Power Plant system, starting & stopping equipment, isolating & restoring equipment for maintenance and monitoring turbine generator and large pumps
+ Ensures safety standards and practices are adhered to for the protection of personnel and equipment in accordance with Corporate, Environmental, Plant & OSHA policies, procedures & regulations
**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:**
**Minimum education required of the position:**
+ High school diploma or equivalent work experience
+ **Preferred:**
+ Machinist/Millwright Apprenticeship or Trade School diploma/degree
**Minimum experience required of the position:**
+ Maintenance Operator III: 2-3 years of experience in operations or similar field
+ Maintenance Operator: 3 years of experience in operations or similar field
+ Mechanical Technician: At least 5 years Power Plant Operations and/or Maintenance experience
**Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position:**
+ Journeyman level Machinist/Millwright is primary skill (minimum 5 years, desired 10 years)
+ Understanding of the principles of mechanical/electronic tools, instruments, controls, measuring devices, gauges, mechanical equipment and piping systems
+ Familiar with the principles of operation of steam boilers, turbine-generators, motors, pumps, heaters, water chemistry equipment and simple loop controls
+ Understanding written & verbal communications and basic writing skills
+ Understand & operate a personal computer
**Any certificates, licenses, etc. required for the position:**
+ Successful completion of the EEI POSS/MASS test
+ **Preferred:**
+ Machinist/Millwright certificate or Experienced Pump Mechanic
