Job Purpose

Act as SME to Lead/Support multidisciplinary facility projects and systems (PLC, shifting speed drive, motors, arc-flash, etc.) by effectively performing electronic engineering responsibilities. Specialty topics may include, but not limited to electronic utilities (supply and distribution, lighting, fire detection and alarm, etc.) Work with contractors to verify that the design and construction meet specifications, code and performance expectations. Monitor progress and performance against the project plan; resolve operational problems, minimize delays, identify, develop, and gather necessary resources to complete the project

Analyses current operating conditions and recommends new preventative and proactive methods for maintaining and monitoring facilities systems. Evaluates facility standards and practices to improve maintenance procedures and ensure optimal operational efficiency. Involved in business planning process and long-term investment planning. Participates in the planning and installation of new facility systems and provides knowledge of maintenance, repair, and operations for various infrastructure, equipment, and building disciplines.

Key Accountabilities

  • Utility Management – Manage utility infrastructure reliability, capacity, and safety. Assess utility capacity versus demand, and analyse operational trends.  Plan and execute necessary utility outage activities, including appropriate customer communication and support.  Evaluate new technology and manage system end-of-life characteristics, seeking opportunities for utility infrastructure innovation. Apply electrical and facilities expertise and facilitate the sharing of knowledge and best practice.
  • Technical Project Management -- Work with internal customers and external consultants, contractors, and suppliers to develop initial concept, specification, design, procurement scope, fabrication/construction, and installation-related documents.  Communicate and work with department design team members, bringing technical expertise and knowledge to projects, and managing the overall execution of projects.
  • Budget Management -- Maintain organizational budgets for capital investment and expense activities, such as maintenance and repair of facility assets and contracted support services.  Budget responsibilities include formulating requests, tracking expenditures, analyzing trends, and adjusting budgets to address business needs.
  • Contract Management -- Arrange and manage appropriate contracted services support, as needed.  Ensure all work meets or exceeds defined organization targets. Manage work to ensure all deliverables comply with associated contract documents, codes and regulations, industry standards, and Honda standards, as applicable.
  • Maintenance Coordination -- Prepare and execute preventative maintenance programs to ensure operational health and optimum uptime for assigned infrastructure, equipment, and building assets.
  • Operations Support -- Utilize technical knowledge of electrical utility and infrastructure systems, project management, analytical decision-making, risk assessment, and troubleshooting / problem solving, to support facilities-related operations in order to meet or exceed organization metrics.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

  • Minimum Educational Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum Experience
    • 5+ years of related work experience based on education
  • Other Job-Specific Skills
    • Knowledge / Experience Required:  Strong subject matter knowledge of industrial electrical utility and infrastructure systems (electricity supply and distribution, lighting, fire detection and alarm, etc.), through design, construction, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities. Knowledge of building / campus facilities management and operations, including construction skilled trades.
    • Knowledge / Experience Preferred:  Professional Engineering (PE) license.  Project management experience. Job Purpose

To contribute to the development of functioning prototypes that will eventually become production All Terrain Vehicles and Side by Side vehicles (ATV/SxS), researching and applying new technologies to support business targets and maintaining global vehicle product quality.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop complex component and system layouts for All Terrain Vehicles and Side by Side vehicles (ATV/SxS) prototype vehicles using computer-aided design software that achieve concept targets, function requirements, and manufacturing requisites with limited supervision. Consistently communicate project status and participate or lead project meetings, discussions, and development events. 
  • Generate high-level ideas and contribute to building strategies that support the evolution of new technologies. Support or lead maturation of ideas to prepare for development applications with limited supervision.

As a senior member of the Advanced CAE Department, you will be responsible to lead 1D CAE model and method creation related to electrical systems like wire harness and electrical control units in order to verify voltage drop and electrical load-balance as well as electrical device performance and power consumption. Compensation & Benefits

Resource Innovations offers competitive salaries based on a candidate's skills, experience and qualifications for the position.  The compensation range for the base salary for this position is $60,000 - $80,000.  In addition to base pay, employees are eligible for a discretionary annual bonus.  The stated salary represents the expected compensation for this position.  Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as the candidate's experience, education and location.

ERM is seeking a Principal Consultant, Renewable Energy/Power overseeing Impact Assessment, Planning and Permitting for renewable energy facilities throughout the Midwest. This role will manage environmental studies and permitting for various power facilities and other major capital development projects, including solar development, battery energy storage system development, technology infrastructure and energy transmission projects. The ideal candidate will have multiple years of project management experience in the power and/or technology sector along with technical expertise leading environmental, local, state, and federal level permitting for large-scale capital projects.

It is preferred and desired that the candidate has experience developing permits and permitting strategies for renewable projects, particularly to support local land use permitting processes, including securing conditional or special use permits, identifying requirements or local municipalities and counties (e.g., buffer widths, vegetative screening, noise analyses, project design, water quality monitoring, and local storm water review criteria), analyzing the potential for variances, and working with developers to optimize layouts based on local permitting requirements.

As part of ERM's planning team you will be leading consulting on a range of environmental, social, and health impact assessment projects to build a sustainable business both regionally and nationally, while networking with ERM's global technical teams to share best practices across the industry.

This position will focus primarily on environmental impact assessment and federal, state, and local permitting to facilitate the development, construction, and operation of commercial-scale energy facilities and support the low carbon economy transition in the U.S. Our portfolio of projects is often fast-paced, multi-faceted, and geographically diverse. The position will require a candidate to work independently and to lead teams of subject matter experts, so the successful candidate must have the ability to manage varying priorities and multiple tasks while forging a cohesive delivery team to meet concurrent deadlines on multiple projects. Responsibilities:
  • Manage and perform complex local permitting and compliance efforts associated with renewable energy and tech sector development projects.

For the Principal Consultant, Renewable Energy/Power (Principal Level) position, we anticipate the annual base pay of $115,500 - $148,700 (USD). An employee's pay position within this range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs. We also may have instances where employee's fall outside of the range based on the factors noted above. This job may be eligible for bonus pay (casual and fixed term/flex force employees are NOT bonus eligible).

WHAT YOU'LL DO

-Heavily focused on new generation acquisitions and evaluations of corporate opportunities

  • Perform financial modeling of investments and assess how they fit within the context of current and future company plans and customer needs.

  • Interface with various operating company and service corp. experts, suppliers, and customers, to refine analyses.

  • Stay abreast of current technologies and market participants in the power generation sector.

  • Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge and database of technology pricing, trends, and risks.

  • In addition, maintain active summary of developers in the new generation market along with status of applications for new projects in the RTO (PJM & SPP) interconnection queues.

  • Assist and coordinate as necessary due diligence activities associated with the addition of generation resources, including coordination with internal and external subject matter experts, tracking and documenting due diligence materials, and providing summary reports as requested to management.

  • Gather information and model customer preferences to assist in the development of new products and services.

  • Develop presentations, reports, and other internal and external communication tools to convey the detailed aspects of our plans to audiences across a wide range of backgrounds.

  • Support the regulatory approval process as needed

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Education : Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering or related field of study.

Work Experience: A minimum of six (6) years of energy sector experience in an engineering, business development, financial and/or business strategy role.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Fundamental knowledge of performance characteristics and economics of various renewable generation options;
  • Strong analytical, oral and written communication and presentation skills are required;

  • Demonstrated ability to successfully interact with a diverse set of internal and external personnel is required, including executive-level interaction;

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, customers, vendors or partners is preferred.

  • Experience in financial modeling, economic forecasting, or similar analytical experience is preferred.

As a Discipline Leader, you will be leading a team of technical experts to grow our geothermal capabilities, direct and manage the design of geothermal energy projects, develop staff, and assist in developing sales growth.

As the Geothermal Energy Discipline Leader and a contributor to CDM Smith's transformational growth, you will:

  • With high-level goals provided, lead teams to create engineering designs including: geothermal systems master planning & studies; conceptual and basis of design technical documents; analyzing horizontal and vertical geothermal bore field systems; detailed design of geothermal heating and cooling systems for sustainability/energy efficiency/renewable energy/green buildings focused projects.

  • Design systems of moderate to high complexity as necessary to meet client requirements. Review draft designs for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and signs off on completed designs. Ensure that firm policies and practices are followed on all designs.

  • Collaborate with sales staff to create proposals in response to current and potential client requests for proposal (RFPs). Review draft proposals for adherence to firm, industry, state, local and federal regulations, and best practices.

  • Meet with current and potential future clients to review their current and future design needs.

  • Perform site assessments and studies, as needed to ensure designs are aligned with industry standards and local requirements.

  • Attend conferences, symposia, etc. to improve the visibility of the firm's products and services in collaboration with applicable sales staff.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for external client and related industry contact. Collaborate with clients and government officials to clarify technical questions and provide updates to project management as necessary.

  • Provide technical guidance and training to more junior staff. Mentor more junior staff and develop them for future growth within the discipline and firm. May supervise the work of junior engineers on project work.
