Position Summary:
The Department of Finance in the College of Business at Florida Atlantic University seeks to hire up to two full-time Finance Instructors. These are non-tenure-track, nine-month positions with a start date of August 2026.
Responsibilities: The successful candidate will teach finance courses at either undergraduate and/or graduate programs, including executive education programs, depending on departmental needs and the candidate's qualifications. Emphasis will be placed on demonstrated experience and excellence in teaching. Instructors normally teach a 4-4 course load (four courses in the fall, four courses in the spring) including limited service and research duties as appropriate. Additional summer teaching may be available pending department needs and budget approval, but these assignments are not guaranteed. Instructors are expected to sustain sufficient scholarship and/or professional engagement activities needed to maintain AACSB faculty qualifications.

Minimum Qualifications:
- An earned doctorate in finance or closely related field from a university with AACSB or similar business accreditation, conferred by the effective date of employment, is preferred.
- Previous experience teaching finance courses in an accredited (AACSB or similar) undergraduate or graduate business program. The main teaching responsibilities will be in the areas of corporate finance, international finance, financial institutions & markets and investments.
- Demonstrated record of excellence in teaching (as demonstrated through evidence including teaching evaluations, certifications, teaching awards, peer reviews of teaching, etc.)
- Certification and/or experience in teaching fully online and/or hybrid delivery platforms.
- Experience in teaching graduate and/or executive programs is preferred.
- Relevant industry experience in a professional role the financial industry is preferred.

Responsibilities:
+ Teach finance courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, including MBA, MSF, and PhD programs, as well as executive programs.
+ Maintain an active program of research and publications appropriate for maintaining AACSB Scholarly Academic qualifications at an R1 institution, as classified by the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education.
+ Participate in appropriate service to the department, college, university, community, and profession.
+ Emphasis will be placed on producing scholarly research in top-tier, peer-reviewed finance journals.
The College is highly supportive of research and provides access to a wide range of databases via WRDS, including Audit Analytics, BoardEx, Compustat, CRSP, Execucomp, IBES, OTC Markets, Thomson/Refinitiv. The department offers both a BBA and a BS in Finance at the undergraduate level, along with required courses and electives in the MBA program, an MSF program through our Market Rate programs, and an active Ph.D. program. Faculty also participate in the Executive Ph.D. program by teaching both the required finance courses and supervising dissertations. The department has over 700 students in the BBA and BS program, approximately 40 MBA and MSF students (each), and 15 doctoral students.
