The Cleveland Orchestra is seeking a Finance Associate who will provide direct support of the Finance functions through assistance in daily processing of receipts, input of invoices, reconciliation of accounts, journal entries, and preparation of regular reports as assigned. In addition, the Finance Associate provides general clerical support to the CFO and the finance department staff. Position responsibilities include the following: ACCOUNTING (85-90%) Process cash receipts including preparation and processing of bank deposits and entry into the accounting system as appropriate with daily reporting on bank accounts. Reconciles and records daily credit card transactions. Create and apply payments to invoices. Reconcile and record all ticket revenue. The Finance Associate performs Accounts Payable or Accounts Receivable functions for the library. Additional duties may include coordinating meeting room schedules and setups, tracking capital assets, handling daily deposits and credit card receipts, processing staff purchase requests, and resolving related issues.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Accounts Payable - processes the payment of vendors by matching invoices with purchase approval documentation, ensures accurate dollar amounts, tax-exempt status, and account codes. Additionally, enters completed invoices into systems and runs edits, proofs, and totals.
2. Accounts Receivable - processes the stocking, counting, and reconciling cash from all public service desks, gifts, grants, and donations. Additionally, prepares cash deposits and assigns revenue codes for deposits.
3. Resolves billing and customer service issues with vendors and patrons.
4. Tracks service and lease contracts for timely renewals and payments.
5. Maintains petty cash balances and reporting.
6. Coordinates all meeting room schedules and setups, accommodating the programming needs of the Library staff meeting needs, and bookings for the general public while enforcing the Library policy.
7. Overviews capital asset listings for accuracy and reporting.
8. Provides clerical assistance to the department as needed.
9. Maintains inventory of department supplies.
10. Generates monthly reports for Finance and assists with other reporting as needed.
11. Attends professional development opportunities.
12. Performs other related duties and special projects as assigned.
