Job Summary The Director of Finance oversees the day-to-day operation of the Accounting & Purchasing Departments, accompanied by communication and coordination with all other Resort’s teams. The Director of Finance will be responsible of labor meetings, budgets, forecast meetings, ownership meetings and other resort activities. Maximus is seeking a Finance Analyst to produce accurate project financial reporting results for submission to corporate and project management.

This is a remote position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Produce accurate project financial reporting results for submission to corporate finance and project management.

- Prepare labor and ODCs (Other Direct Charges) for client invoicing and cost reporting; ensure all costs on the invoice are accurate, appropriately supported and reconcile to the accounting system.

- Assist program control staff with ad hoc financial and cost analysis as requested by program management and corporate finance.

- Provide analytical support to program contract staff preparing corporate required reporting of accounts receivable and billed and unbilled reconciliations.

- Track financial status by monitoring variances from forecasts and investigate unusual variances for accuracy.

- Monitor fulfillment expenses closely against forecast assumptions.

- Review incoming vendor invoices for accuracy, provide appropriate codes and monitor payment status.

Minimum Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in related field required.

- 3-5 years of related experience required.

Job-Specific Minimum Requirements :

- Must have direct billing/invoice adjustments and financial reporting experience.

- Must have experience reviewing month-end accruals.

- Must have forecasting and revenue recognition experience.

- Experience tracking financial status and monitoring variances is required.

- Must possess strong proficiency with MS Excel, Power Point, and Word.

- Work requires considerable judgment and initiative.

  • Deliver clear guidance and expectations to business and Finance teams, work collaboratively and timely with positive outcomes across FP&A teams and cycles (e.g., Plan, Forecast, Long-Term Planning).
  • Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days per week. When not telecommuting, must report to Denver, CO office.
Role Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or U.S. equivalent in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field, plus 6 years of professional experience as a Financial Reporting Manager, Account Supervisor, or any occupation/position/job title involving international financial services.
  • Must also have experience in the following: 6 years of professional experience interacting with Executive Management.
  • 6 years of professional experience managing and leading finance teams.
  • 6 years of professional experience conducting metric and financial reviews.
  • 6 years of professional experience performing financial planning and analysis on financial performance, trends, and forecasts.
  • 6 years of professional experience performing continuous analytics and reporting for critical financial areas (including transactions, revenue, pricing, commissions, and ROI).

Annual base salary gross: $29,216- 325,367 USD. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the Western Union salary range for this position. Since 1995, the Foundation has granted more than $280 million to organizations and initiatives focused on Aging, Child and Family Development, Education, Health and Jewish Life in the Greater Denver area recently adding a cross-programmatic community action overlay of support for organizations serving immigrants, refugees and communities vulnerable to discrimination and hate crimes.

We are seeking a finance associate to join us to ensure the integrity and accuracy of the Foundations financials information and procedures. The ideal candidate will have high aptitude for numbers, problem solving skills, strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize. Recent experience in nonprofit accounting is a plus.

Responsibilities

Accounting

  • Perform and oversee daily accounting duties and monthly reconciliation of accounts including deposits and credit cards expense management
  • Prepare bi-weekly payroll for processing by third-party vendor and record journal entry
  • Design and prepare monthly financial reports and account analyses and narrative, including reporting for funds, initiatives, and special projects
  • Support the Rose Medical Center Gift Shop with financial reports and filing sales tax returns
  • Provide annual audit support reconciling and producing scheduled reports
  • Assist in bank reconciliation, budget preparation, regular account analyses for coding errors and reconciliation to general ledger
  • Assist controller with insurance renewal, compliance, claims, including correspondence preparation, payment processing and reporting
  • Provide back-up and assistance in accounts payable and the filing of Form 1099s
  • Provide back-up for the donor services associate to process incoming gifts
  • Provide occasional general administrative support including preparing correspondence, filing, answering telephones and front desk coverage
  • Maintain and file all necessary records and documentation, related to financial, human resources and payroll
  • Work with our third party administrator to prepare and file Form 5500s
  • Serve as point-of-contact for Rose Medical Center retirement plan; respond to participant questions and process participant forms
  • Assist new hires and exiting employees with onboarding and off-boarding, including COBRA management
  • Manage, administer, communicate, and report on all employee benefits including changes in enrollment, funding and benefits reconciliation, and annual benefits renewal
  • Complete surveys and census updates

Other duties

  • Participate in foundation-wide cross-departmental projects
  • As a member of the Foundations support team, cultivate a culture of shared resources, teaching, learning and support for the Foundation
Job Qualifications
