Duties

- Execute trim and frame carpentry tasks, utilizing both hand and power tools effectively.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to guide project execution.
- Oversee concrete forming, plastering, and rebar installation activities as needed.
- Manage fabrication processes, including cabinet installation, door hanging, and fixture installation.
- Conduct water damage restoration tasks while adhering to safety protocols.
- Coordinate roofing, siding, flooring installation, tile laying, and masonry work as required.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations on the construction site while mentoring junior staff.
- Facilitate heavy lifting tasks when necessary and oversee the use of various tools including CNC machinery.
- Collaborate with subcontractors for specialized tasks such as plumbing, electrical work, and mold remediation.
Experience
- Proven experience in the construction industry with a strong focus on carpentry skills including woodworking and metal stud framing.
- Familiarity with restoration industry practices is preferred.
- Hands-on experience in construction painting and maintenance person services is advantageous.
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge of caulking techniques, stucco application, and assembly processes.
- Previous experience working on construction sites is essential; candidates should be comfortable with physical demands of the job including heavy lifting.

Salary and Benefits:
Pay is weekly and based on experience, performance, and attitude. Pay range for a carpenter apprentice is between $18-$0 per hour and qualified foremen range from 24- 42. Piece rate pay is offered if you have your own tools and vehicle, and your quality of work meets our standards. Foremen qualify for a company vehicle and gas cards or compensation for personal vehicle use to fulfill foremen responsibilities.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Prior experience is preferred but not required, given you meet the requirements listed below. We are willing to train and believe anyone can acquire the necessary skills if they have a good work ethic and drive to learn.
You must have a valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, ability to read a measurement tape, and be familiar with power tools. SureLine will NOT provide hand tools; therefore, you are required to have your own tool belt, smooth-face hammer, utility knife, speed square, measuring tape, ¾” chisel, nail puller, needle-nose pliers, and other tools that may not be listed. You MUST be able to lift heavy materials, such as doors, lengths of shelving, base, case, power tools, etc. We are required to comply with all safety standards and OSHA guidelines. You may be exposed to dust, loud noise, and poor weather conditions.

Position is responsible for performing a wide variety of skilled construction activities in such areas as concrete, structural steel erection, welding, millwrighting, and general carpentry, with a primary emphasis on finished carpentry. Incumbents may serve as a lead to Construction Workers or Laborers in the absence of a Job Foreman or Job Superintendent. The Skilled Construction Worker is the third level of an eight-level construction series. The Skilled Construction Worker is distinguished from the Construction Worker by the skill and experience level required to perform tasks in three specialized trade areas. The Skilled Construction Worker is distinguished from the Job Foreman which has responsibility for coordinating tasks within a project and serving as a lead to construction crews.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None
- Studies blueprints, sketches, or building plans for information pertaining to type of material required, such as lumber or fiberboard, and dimensions of structure or fixture to be fabricated; prepare layouts, using measuring tape, framing square, calipers; and marks cutting and assembly lines on materials.
- Shapes materials to prescribed measurements; assembles cut and shaped materials and fastens them together with appropriate tools; verifies trueness of structure with layout tools; and erects framework for structures and lays sub flooring.
- Builds stairs and lays out and installs partitions and cabinet work.
- Fits and installs prefabricated window frames, doors, doorframes, weather stripping, interior and exterior trim, and finish hardware.
- Erects scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground level
- Certified welders should be able to read weld symbols and identify a weld meets specifications, have an understanding of maintenance and calibration of welding machines, understand proper handling of welding material and gases.
- Levels concrete to specified depth and workable consistency, using hand-held screed and floats to bring water to surface and produce soft topping; and smooths and shapes surfaces of freshly poured concrete, using straight edge and float or power screed.
- Finishes or repair concrete surfaces to specified finish, may specialize in finishing steps and stairways, or may break up and repair old concrete surfaces.
- Aligns material to specified connections; verifies vertical and horizontal alignment of materials.
- Qualified in rigging & hoisting of materials
- Performs millwright duties by reading blueprints and schematic drawings to determine layout of equipment; dismantling machines; moving machinery and equipment, using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks; and, assembling and installing equipment, such as shafting, conveyors, and tram rails.
- Serves as a lead to Laborers, Construction Workers, and other Skilled Construction Workers by monitoring and assigning work to construction crew in the absence of a Foreman or Superintendent.
- Ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed, bring problems to the attention of the Superintendent, Field Safety Coordinator or HR Manager.

Crew leads are accountable to lead a group of 2-3 carpenters, distribute work on the job site, mentor/train other carpenters, and communicate with the project superintendent to ensure that projects are done on time with the detail and quality of a DeLeers structure.
