PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Sets up stations with entrees, soups, salads, breads, condiments, and all other food products and serving utensils to established portions. Replenishes as needed during meal service and breaks down at end of meal periods.
+ Reads patient meal orders according to prescribed diets, prepares trays according to menu cards. Reviews trays for completeness and places trays on carts or appropriate transport.
+ Transports food carts and late trays to designated areas. Ensures safe food handling and established infection control processes. Prepares and delivers dietary food stock for patient units.
+ Maintains a sanitary work environment through following established procedures. Ensures all equipment is maintained and in good working order.
+ Documents the temperature of specified foods and refrigerator/freezer units. Makes necessary adjustments and reports problems when temperature is out of range.
+ Retrieves used issued trays in a timely, efficient manner from the cafeteria and/or patient care units. Washes and sanitizes dishes using established methods and timeline. Puts clean dishes and utensils away in proper areas. Cleans work area, tables, cabinets, carts, and all other areas as assigned.
+ Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Recruits, interviews, promotes, disciplines, and terminates staff. Sets performance standards and goals for direct reports and the department. Evaluates and counsels staff on their performance. Monitors workload statistics to ensure appropriate staffing levels. Provides for the education needs of the staff.
+ Collaborates with leadership in the development, interpretation and implementation of d policies and procedures. Ensures policies and procedures are reviewed and updated on a regular basis to maintain compliance with any changes to federal, state, local, or other regulatory requirements.
+ Directs the daily operations of the department, including but not limited to menu planning, purchasing, ordering, inventory and preparation to ensure staff has the appropriate equipment, inventory and resources to perform job duties. Establishes operating standards to implement quality improvements and communicates to both staff and ministry leadership.
+ Assists to maintain cash controls and payroll functions for the department.
+ Adheres to HACCP guidelines and complies with all safety and risk management policies and procedures.
+ Monitors and assures food that is served meets quality, taste, presentation and portion standards. Makes adjustments and coaches staff as needed.
+ Prepares and distributes work schedules and task assignments for assigned group. Evaluates requests for time off and schedule changes and approves or declines following policy. Advises supervisor of any potential policy violations related to attendance or schedules.
