Serve and distribute food and supplies, snacks, nourishments. Serve at service counter in Employee Cafeteria and/or in catering area. Performs duties of Cashier in Employee Cafeteria. Cashier Responsibilities: Follows established procedures in activities related to ringing up sales accurately and making correct change for customers. Demonstrates knowledge of prices and of menu items. Adheres to cashiering polices ensuring all sales accounts are rung up accurately: hospital employee, food service employee, medical doctors, students, residents, volunteer, clergy and guests. Qualifications
Work requires the ability to read and understand written instruction and no previous experience, High School diploma or equivalent preferred plus three to six months on the job training and orientation. Certification required as a Food Handler from the City of Paterson or similar food safety certification; must obtain within 1 week of hire and maintain certification. Work requires the analytical ability to read & understand instructions, add & subtract numbers, make comparisons between numbers and letters.

- Establishes and maintains food production records, reports, and department files as required;
- Manages the implementation of safety training programs and ensures site compliance with OSHA job safety

o Plans and coordinates food service operations with other departments;
o Communicates with team members on changes within the department;
o Schedules food committee meetings with residents and record minutes;
o Adheres to appropriate code of ethics(CC); and
o Demonstrates regular attendance and punctuality.
The Director of Food and Nutrition Services will have the ability to:
o Analyze situations accurately and adopt and effective course of action
o Operate a computer
o Work independently with little direction
o Oral and written communication skills
o Principles and practices of supervision and training
Qualifications of the Director of Food and Nutrition Services will include but are not limited to:
o Bachelor or Associate degree or higher in nutrition or hospitality; or
o Certified Dietary Manger; or
o Registered Diet Technician; or
o Certified Food Service Manager
3+ years of experience as a Food Service Director in a large nursing home required.
