We are seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as Forklift Operators, assisting with Production Operator duties. This role involves a mix of production and forklift operations, ensuring efficient handling of bagged salt products and maintaining a clean work area. Candidates will not be on the forklift 100% of the time and must be flexible to handle various tasks.
**Responsibilities**
+ Set up machines on the production line by choosing a program and operating controls.
+ Stack pallets of bagged salt using a forklift.
+ Operate the bagging machine to fill and seal bags.
+ Shovel salt outside in case of spills.
+ Load and unload flatbed trucks with forklifts.
+ Bag product efficiently and accurately.
+ Clean the work area daily to maintain safety and efficiency.
+ Complete production paperwork accurately and report during and at the end of shifts.
+ Keep accurate records of production data.
**Essential Skills**
+ At least 3 years of experience operating a sit-down propane forklift.
+ Proficiency in loading and unloading trailers and driving in outdoor and rough environments.
+ Manufacturing or production experience with an understanding of production metrics.
+ Ability to work outside year-round in various weather conditions.
+ Capability to lift up to 50 lbs consistently during shifts.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Forklift certification is preferred.
+ Experience as a heavy equipment operator.
+ Experience loading flatbed trucks efficiently
**Work Environment**
The work environment is above ground at the production site and shipping yard, exposed to the elements year-round. Employees are required to wear steel-toed boots/shoes and attire that includes jeans or shorts and a T-shirt without offensive language or logos. Upon direct hire, employees will receive a uniform.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $7.00 - 17.00/hr.

Key Responsibilities
- Moves parts on the plant floor and in the shipping/receiving area through the operation of a forklift truck.
- Supplies parts to assembly stations and sequencing lanes in a timely manner.
- Loads and unloads parts from trucks.
- Maintains stock in an organized fashion (FIFO).
- Assists with monthly physical inventories and daily cycle counts.
- Initiates, recommends or provides solutions through appropriate channels; participates in Kaizen/MPS activities.
