General Purpose

This Director level attorney position will work on the Ross Legal team as a member of the Employment Law team primarily assessing, handling, and managing employment claims including defending Ross in agency hearings and in arbitrations. This position will collaborate with and support team members in Legal to execute job requirements and to provide effective internal communications and reporting. This position will potentially also work with other groups within Legal, business stakeholders, and HR to promote compliance and mitigate legal risk.

This attorney will work collaboratively and responsively with a broad range of colleagues, facilitating a coordinated team approach to providing employment law legal services including: primarily working on optimal litigation results (agency, individual, and representative actions) with the potential for future work on employment law training/skills development, projects, and advice and counsel on employment issues (such as employee discipline, policies, leaves and accommodations, investigations, separation agreements).

The position will report to the GVP, Employment Law and will work directly with and support other employment law team members on the handling of claims and other tasks as assigned.

The base salary range for this role is $70,000 to 220,000. The base salary range is dependent on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, qualifications, relevant education, certifications, seniority, and location. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards vary by position and location.

Essential Functions

  • Claims management: Deliver effective, business-focused agency charge, attorney demand and litigation results efficiently, performing work directly or appropriately leveraging and managing outside counsel.
  • Day to day employment law advice: Provide practical and business-focused employment law advice and counsel, considering multiple stakeholder perspectives where necessary. Assess risks and offer client-focused practical solutions and options.
  • Proactive compliance: Partner with Legal, HR and other stakeholders to develop, implement, and monitor policies and practices to promote compliance and mitigate legal exposure. Maintain constructive relationships with clients, stakeholders and peers and work collaboratively to identify and assess options for resolving compliance issues.
  • Reporting and continuous learning: Partner effectively/collaborate with team members to ensure adequate reporting on litigation outcomes and learnings, internal/external trends, legal updates and projects updates, and to develop a/or deliver effective employment law training.

THE POSITION

The successful candidate for this position must demonstrate strong leadership skills, flexibility, creativity and the ability to work effectively to foster positive and harmonious working relationships, and experience working with a diverse staff and community groups.

The Employment and Eligibility (E&E) Services Manager serves as a member of the department's mid-management team. This class is distinguished from the classification of Deputy Director of Health and Social Services in that the latter is responsible for the operational activities of an entire division within the department and supervises this class.

The eligible list created as a result of this recruitment will be used to fill full-time and part-time regular, limited-term or extra-help positions as vacancies occur or the need arises.

**Essential Responsibilities:**
+ Define and implement the global employment tax strategy, ensuring alignment with evolving business models, legislation, risk appetite, and technology developments. Lead employment tax aspects of corporate transactions, including business separations, reorganizations, and expansions.
+ Oversee compliance and reporting for employment tax obligations across multiple jurisdictions, including Americas, EMEA, and APAC
+ Partner with Payroll, HR, Compensation, Benefits, Corporate Tax, Legal, and Finance to ensure cohesive execution of employment tax policies.
+ Manage International, US Federal and US state employment tax audits, resolve disputes with tax authorities, and address post-filing notice inquiries.

**Qualifications/ Requirements:**
+ Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in related area (or a high school graduate/GED or equivalent with at least 4 years of relevant work experience)
+ Minimum of five years of experience in employment, mobility, and international tax, with a mix of in-house and accounting or law firm experience.
+ Proven experience leading employment tax strategy and operations for large, multinational organizations.
+ Deep understanding of tax risk, compliance frameworks, and global payroll operations.

**Pay and Benefits:**
+ The base pay range for this position is $152,300 - 205,000. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. Job Description

Performance Contracting employs the following skilled trades:

  • Abatement Worker : Work or removal of materials that have potential to create hazardous exposure. Hazardous materials include but are not limited to: asbestos, lead containing materials, mold.
  • Carpenter : Perform a variety of skilled carpentry work in the construction, installation, erection, maintenance, fabrication and repair of wooden structure and fixtures (for example: architectural woodwork, millwork, trim, concrete forms, metal and wood framing, drywall, acoustical ceilings, etc.)
  • Fireproofer : Application of fireproofing materials in new and existing commercial construction sites.
  • Helper/Laborer/Trainee : Prepares work area by transporting needed tools and equipment from storage facility. Loads and unloads building materials to be used on construction projects. Removes debris and possible hazards to keep construction sites clean and safe.
  • Painter : Set up a conventional paint pot. Utilize air-assisted and airless paint systems. Mix kits of paint with the most common industrial coatings.
  • Plasterer : Mix and prepare plastering/EIFS materials. Carry and transfer of material. Coordinate the staging of the material. Measure, cut and install EIFS substrate. Install mesh, leveling coats, and finishes for EIFS. Install multi-step plaster systems at the exterior and interior structures.
  • Iron Worker : Construction, fabrication, and installation of structural steel and iron components to build buildings, bridges, and other metal structures.
  • Millwright : Installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial machinery and equipment, ensuring their precise functionality within manufacturing and production settings.
  • Operator : An operating engineer's job entails operating and maintaining heavy equipment, such as bulldozers, cranes, and excavators, to perform various construction, excavation, and earthmoving tasks.
  • Plumbing/Piping : Installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems and piping networks to ensure the proper distribution of water, gas, and other fluids in buildings and industrial facilities.
  • Glazier : Installation, repair, and replacement of glass in various structures, including windows, doors, and glass facades.
  • Boilermaker : Skilled construction, assembly, and repair of boilers, pressure vessels, and other large metal containers used to store and transport liquids and gases in industrial settings.
  • Electrical Workers : Installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems, wiring, and equipment to ensure the safe and efficient distribution of electricity in various residential, commercial, and industrial settings.

General Purpose

This Director level attorney position will work on the Ross Legal team as a member of the Employment Law team primarily assessing, handling, and managing employment claims including defending Ross in agency hearings and in arbitrations. This position will collaborate with and support team members in Legal to execute job requirements and to provide effective internal communications and reporting. This position will potentially also work with other groups within Legal, business stakeholders, and HR to promote compliance and mitigate legal risk.

This attorney will work collaboratively and responsively with a broad range of colleagues, facilitating a coordinated team approach to providing employment law legal services including: primarily working on optimal litigation results (agency, individual, and representative actions) with the potential for future work on employment law training/skills development, projects, and advice and counsel on employment issues (such as employee discipline, policies, leaves and accommodations, investigations, separation agreements).

The position will report to the GVP, Employment Law and will work directly with and support other employment law team members on the handling of claims and other tasks as assigned.

The base salary range for this role is $70,000 to 220,000. The base salary range is dependent on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, qualifications, relevant education, certifications, seniority, and location. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards vary by position and location.

Essential Functions

  • Claims management: Deliver effective, business-focused agency charge, attorney demand and litigation results efficiently, performing work directly or appropriately leveraging and managing outside counsel.
  • Day to day employment law advice: Provide practical and business-focused employment law advice and counsel, considering multiple stakeholder perspectives where necessary. Assess risks and offer client-focused practical solutions and options.
  • Proactive compliance: Partner with Legal, HR and other stakeholders to develop, implement, and monitor policies and practices to promote compliance and mitigate legal exposure. Maintain constructive relationships with clients, stakeholders and peers and work collaboratively to identify and assess options for resolving compliance issues.
