The successful candidate will join our employed team of 7 Perfusionists. Call is shared at 1:6. Christiana Care’s experienced Cardiac Surgery team performs close to 1,000 procedures annually. Our practice is located on our expansive Christiana Hospital campus, a level 1 trauma center with 913 beds.
Work Hours:

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reviews patient medical history and chart.
Determines, assembles and monitors equipment needed for cardiopulmonary bypass and other extra corporeal life support procedures.
Monitors patients’ blood temperature, composition and flow rate.
Ensures clinically efficient blood salvaging techniques.
Monitors blood gas and blood chemistry.
Monitors anticoagulation and hematological analysis.

Cleans and maintains hard and soft surface floors. Wet mops and spot cleans hard and soft surface floors.
- Performs minor repair maintenance. Operates heating, A/C, ventilation, electrical and mechanical systems. Operations will be limited to turning equipment on/off and/or setting day/night cycles. Observes and reports needed repair of equipment, furnishings, fixtures, building and site.
- Assists in the maintenance of lawns, landscaping, concrete and blacktop surfaces and playgrounds, including pedestrian walkways snow and ice removal.

Minimum Qualifications
• Experience performing commercial cleaning and janitorial duties
• Requires ability to properly use all types of commercial vacuum cleaners, stripping and buffing machines and any special tool or piece of equipment assigned for the performance of duties.
• Must be knowledgeable about safety regulations, proper methods for using and storing cleaning chemicals and floor finishes.
• Applicants must be in good physical and mental condition and be able to lift, pull, push, and carry items weighing more than fifty pounds. Also, they must be able to climb and stand on ladders and platforms.
• Knowledge at present or the ability to be trained for basic electrical repairs, such as ballast replacement, repair of flushing mechanisms, and perform minor repairs with custodial equipment or other repairs throughout the building.
• Must possess the temperament to work with students and staff exhibiting a wide range of emotions, and the physical ability to perform the essential duties.
Requirements:
Perform custodial duties that relate to the care and cleaning of buildings, grounds and equipment, which include, but are not limited to:
• Sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, dusting and polishing of floors, furniture, doors, windows, and other surfaces.
• Cleaning and disinfecting lavatories and restrooms
• Collecting trash and debris from buildings, classrooms, and offices.
• Safe and proper use of all related equipment, supplies, tools, and cleaning chemicals.
• Completion of assigned tasks inside and outside, regardless of weather conditions, so that school facilities are maintained in a safe, clean, and attractive manner.
