Scope of Work:
We are seeing an experienced Controller with a strong background in government contracting (GovCon) to oversee the company's accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance functions. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable federal regulations (including FAR, DFARS, CAS, and 8(a)) managing accounting processes, and supporting contract financial performance across programs such as BOS, ITEPS, and other federal contracting vehicles.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
- Ensure compliance with federal regulations including FAR, DFAR, CAS, and DCAA audit requirements.
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes, including preparation of financial statements and reports for executive leadership.
- Provide accurate and timely financial reporting and forecasting to support business decisions.
- Lead and manage the indirect rate structure and cost allocation methodologies.
- Coordinate with external auditors and manage annual audits and financial reviews.
- Oversee compliance with government contract requirements, including incurred cost submissions and reporting obligations.
- Support proposal pricing, cost narratives, and financial input during the RPF process.
- Collaborate with program managers to track financial performance of active contracts.
- Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting policies.
- Mentor and develop accounting staff.
- Research and recommend technology solutions to improve accuracy and efficiency in accounting practices and processes.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field. CPA/MBA a plus but not required.
- Minimum 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience with most recent experience in a GovCon environment.
- Strong understanding of federal contract types, (e.g., CPFF, FFP, T&M) and contract compliance.
- Experience with Base Operations Support (BOS) and IT, Engineering, and Professional Services (ITEPS), Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract structure.
- Expert level Proficiency in Deltek Costpoint.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Experience working in or with 8(a) tribal or small business contractors a plus.
- Experience managing teams in a fast-paced midsized government contracting organization.
- Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license and a safe driving record, in accordance with company policy, to operate vehicles or equipment as required for the position.
Physical Demands / Work Environment:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Regular use of hands and fingers for typing, writing, and handling office equipment.
- Ability to occasionally walk, reach with hands and arms, and stoop or kneel.
- May occasionally lift or move objects up to 25 pounds (e.g., files, office supplies).

Your Experience
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, IT or a related field

- Strong knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Defense FAR Supplement (DFARS) Business Systems and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS)
- Experience designing and implementing government contracting compliance programs, including DFARS business systems control environments

We are seeking a highly experienced Federal Acquisition Data and Systems Subject Matter Expert to support GSA's acquisition programs and data systems. This role focuses on ensuring system interoperability and enhancing the quality and accessibility of acquisition data.
