Responsibilities
- Promptly and professionally handle a high volume of incoming calls, gathering all necessary information from callers.
- Coordinate and schedule appointments, procedures, and exams in accordance with established protocols, resolving any conflicts as needed.
- Provide clear instructions, answer questions, and offer guidance on appointment preparation and insurance requirements.
- Verify and input patient information accurately to support effective scheduling.
- Reschedule or cancel appointments upon request and ensure all changes are communicated appropriately.
- Utilize various scheduling software and applications to manage appointments across multiple modalities.
- Assist with additional duties as assigned and support team members with scheduling expertise.
- Maintain a high level of knowledge regarding departmental scheduling practices and serve as a resource to others.
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR), preferably Epic.
- Strong phone skills and triage experience.
- Customer service experience in a call center environment.
- Ability to comply with HIPAA while handling confidential and sensitive patient information.
- Intermediate knowledge of medical terminology and understanding of different payor types such as Medicare, Medicaid, PPO, HMO.
- High school graduate or GED required.
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in a high-volume patient scheduling customer service environment or comparable administrative experience required.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent organizational, multi-tasking, communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, customer service, and listening skills.
- General knowledge of office procedures and operations.
Work is performed in a remote or office-based environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment. The role offers flexibility in locations such as New Haven, Hamden, or Stratford, with shifts typically from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM or 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $4.00/hr.

**What You'll Do:**
+ Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
+ Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education

+ Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise
**Responsibilities:**
+ Provide customer service to clients, following security-related procedures and site-specific policies, including emergency response activities when appropriate.
+ Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times.
+ Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the healthcare facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and observe for any irregularities.
+ Monitor entrances, exits, and sensitive areas to help to deter unauthorized access and report any unusual conditions or incidents.
+ Communicate clearly and promptly with Allied Universal management, facility staff, and/or emergency personnel as needed.
