EDUCATION

**JOB SUMMARY**
The Medical Assistant functions as an important member of the healthcare team by providing basic clinical, clerical, and technical support to assist providers in planning for patients' care, comfort, and safety. The Medical Assistant performs in a manner consistent with Marshfield Clinic's mission, policies, and initiatives while maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
**JOB QUALIFICATIONS**
**EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE**
**Minimum Required:** One of the following:
+ Graduate of a Medical Assistant program
+ Documented successful completion of the following courses **or** (their recognized course equivalent):
+ Medical Terminology from an accredited institution **or** completed on line through Universal Class.
+ Anatomy & Physiology or Body Structure & Function or Human Body in Health & Disease from an accredited institution or completed on line through Universal Class.
+ Pharmacology from an accredited institution.
+ Two years of Medical Assistant-related work experience and completion of the required educational courses listed above within the first 12 months from hire.
**Preferred/Optional:** Experience in healthcare experience.
