Job Description

The primary responsibility of the Health Screener is to provide coverage in the field ensuring that health screenings are completed accurately and on time. We are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, serving individuals 13+. What You Will Do to Change Lives

The Unit Clerk provides support services to the nursing, clinical, and medical staff. Duties are typically clerical and technical in nature and will involve contact with members served.

The Office Assistant prepares the monthly reports for all program funding sources. This is reviewed by the Office Manager and Program Administrator to submit for grant reporting and payment processing. Essential Job Duties:
  1. Answer and direct all in-coming calls
  2. Assist in maintaining all client records pertaining to Senior Nutrition Program in the appropriate County online program (Riverside - RTZ and in San Bernardino - Wellsky.)
  3. Assist in maintaining current, up to date office client files (hard copy) according to Agency and funding source program requirements for audit purposes.
  4. Retain in all records and reports required by program and funding source to be maintained by the Agency in an organized and secured location, following HIPAA

POSITION SUMMARYThe Risk Manager/Patient Safety Officer maintains an updated list of all liability insurance policies, monitors claims against the district while interfacing with legal counsel, analyzes risk management activities throughout the district, and monitors the districts compliance with State and Federal regulatory standards. Also oversees the creation, review, and refinements to the Patient Safety Program and takes action that is immediately necessary to ensure patient safety because of an investigation. Maintains educational updates related to areas of responsibility and is a domain lead for Beta Heart program.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Ensures compliance with regulatory standards
  • Insurance/Risk. Works closely with legal counsel. Makes recommendation concerning district operations to reduce risk exposure.
  • Ensure compliance with Serious Reportable Adverse events, Variance reports, and patient grievances. Analyzes, evaluates, and communicates patterns and trends of variance reports.
  • Serve as the link to the Board of Directors, Quality and Safety Committees, Medical Executive Committee and Administration on all matters related to risk management and patient safety.
  • Has management responsibility over the Patient Advocate position.
  • Oversees the Patient Safety Program
  • Performs special projects as directed by CEO or Board of Directors
  • All other duties or responsibilities as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Education (or substitute experience) REQUIRED:

  • Current California RN or LVN license REQUIRED
  • BLS certification within 3 months of hire

Education :

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Certified Professional in Patient Safety
  • Certification in Healthcare Risk Management

Minimum Experience REQUIRED:

  • Minimum of three years previous experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

Experience :

  • Management experience
  • Experience as Risk Manager or Patient Safety Officer

Skills:

  • Ability to interact and handle difficult situations in a helpful manner
  • Ability to evaluate clinical performance
  • Ability to develop policies and procedures
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

Summary

The Jerry L. Pettis Memorial Veterans Hospital is recruiting for a Full-Time, Permanent Physician position as Chief of Inpatient Medicine. This role reports directly to the ED-Inpatient Service Chief.

Qualifications

To qualify, applicants must meet the basic and any additional requirements listed in the job announcement. Pending completion of training or licensing requirements, applicants may be considered tentatively but cannot be hired until all requirements are fulfilled. Current VA-employed physicians who met previous qualification standards are deemed qualified.

  • Basic Requirements:

  • Doctor of medicine or equivalent degree from an approved school
  • Current, unrestricted license to practice medicine in the U.S.
  • Completed residency training approved by the VA, leading to eligibility for board certification
  • Residents enrolled in approved residency programs are eligible for appointment as 'Physician Resident Providers' (PRPs), who must be fully licensed, may only be appointed intermittently or on a fee basis, and are not considered independent practitioners

  • Complete all medical records according to bylaws and regulations
