Summary:

Responsible for shift operations of a nursing unit. In collaboration with Nurse Manager, responsible for operations of a nursing unit. In the absence of nurse manager, assumes operational departmental responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensures the delivery of quality care in accordance with regulatory and hospital standards and policies.

  • Oversees and coordinates daily shift activities of nursing unit.

  • Under the direction of the unit's leadership, sets daily and monthly schedules.

  • Assists Nurse Manager by providing clinical expertise, serving as a mentor, clinical educator, and directing patient care.

  • Participates in the hiring, training /staff development and daily activities of assigned staff and performance management.
