Qualifications

* Correct administration and recording of oral medication. Assistance in emergency situations.
* Proper care of equipment and supplies.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Administering oral and topical medication as prescribed by physicians, following state guidelines.
* Provide suitable environment for residents.
* Administer personal hygienic and therapeutic measures for residents as directed.
* Assisting with diagnostic procedures.
* Keep accurate record of medications given and not given.
* Will record in nurse's notes pertinent information concerning medication.
* Keep nurse in charge informed of all medication which needs to be ordered. Order all medication that require re-ordering.
* Check all medication delivered from pharmacy. Count with pharmacist all controlled substances being delivered.
* Record in Control Substance Record appropriate number.
* At the beginning and end of each shift, count controlled substances with incoming and/or off going Medication Aide
* Administering first aide during emergencies.
* Do treatments to non-pressure skin wounds. Document all necessary information in residents charts.
* Assist with resident care as needed.
* Assist nursing assistants during meal times as needed.
* Keep charge nurse advised of changes in resident's conditions or personnel problems.
* All other duties as assigned.

- Minimum of one year of experience in a medical office, clinic, or similar setting is required. This experience must include direct, hands-on patient care in a clinical setting, such as obtaining manual vital signs, documenting patient history and medications, and performing clinical procedures (e.g., EKGs, phlebotomy, administering injections or vaccines). A combination of relevant experience and formal medical-related education may be considered to meet this requirement.
- Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association within 90 days of hire.
- Must obtain AHA BLS within 90 days of hire .
- **BAT and DOT certifications required for Medical Assistants in Occupational Medicine within 90 days of hire**
Preferred Requirements for Certified Medical Assistant:
- Current MA Certification from AAMA, AMT, NAHP, NCCT, AAMP.

- Maintain behavior that is compliant with Federal and State regulations, guidelines, and requirements including working knowledge of all health information management issues such as HIPAA.

- Assist patients utilizing a Virtual Medicine Provider.
- Ensure accurate completion of patient charts in a timely matter and forwarding charts as appropriate on a daily basis.

ResponsibilitiesEssential Job Functions:
- Complete technical inspections of new, used or reconditioned medical equipment. Complete repair of damaged medical equipment.
- Complete overhaul of medical equipment. Use authorized Army Automation Systems, which include, but are not limited to, the Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support (DMLSS), the Standard Army Maintenance System-Enhanced (SAMS-E), Theater Enterprise-Wide Logistics System (TEWLS), Global Combat Support System (GCSS) and other systems that are specifically authorized by the USAMMA M3D.
- Possess the training and abilities to technically inspect, repair, calibrate, and overhaul medical equipment.
- Perform calibration and PMCS.
- Travel Requirement estimated 15%.
Qualifications
Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

- A background check will be conducted.
- Possess the ability to pass a NACI background investigation and acquire a CAC.

Follows standardized procedures and helps prepare samples for testing.
