Overview
Children's Mercy has the only Level I pediatric trauma center in the region - our Adele Hall campus ED has 39 beds, with staffing support from 150 nurses and technicians, 40 APRNs, and over 40 physicians. We treat over 65,000 patients per year. Our 39 exam rooms include 4 trauma rooms; 3 orthopedic rooms; 3 major medical rooms; 4 triage rooms; and a Nurse Practitioner-led minor care area with 10 beds and a separate waiting room for those patients. We have a family room and private waiting room to offer privacy to families at difficult times. We have three zones (Red, Yellow, and Green) and nurses are scheduled in 4-hour blocks, typically rotating to zones once or twice in their shift.
Critical care registered nurses provide illness management and health promotion for patients and families who require intensive care. Critical care registered staff nurses utilize the nursing process and knowledge of scientific principles to provide safe, high quality, comprehensive, and age appropriate nursing care for their assigned patients in the intensive care areas of the hospital. Critical care registered staff nurses provide patient and family education and advocate for their needs, while coordinating patient care with nonprofessional personnel as necessary.

I. JOB SUMMARY

- Provide Patient Centered Care Nursing processes including Patient/Family, Evidence Based Practices (EBP), safety and process improvement

+ Participates in HEDIS measure campaigns and other quality initiatives to ensure the highest standards of care and to promote the improvement of care management and delivery
+ Participates in clinical after hours on-call program on rotational basis

**Required Qualifications:**
+ Certification through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), or American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)
+ Current, unrestricted NP licensure in State of Practice
+ Nurse Practitioner must actively hold, unrestricted RN licensure in State of Practice
+ Access to reliable transportation; if you are driving a vehicle, you must comply with all the terms of the Optum Motor Vehicle Safety policy
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ 2+ years of clinical experience, primary care, home-based medical care, geriatrics, palliative care, emergency/urgent care, or similar setting
+ Proven knowledge of long-term care, community resources and cost-effective alternatives regarding patient care delivery systems
+ Proven knowledge of CPT, ICD-10 and HCPC codes
+ Proven knowledge of clinical standards of care
+ Demonstrated awareness of NCQA requirements, CMS guidelines, Medicaid/Medicare contracts and benefit systems
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $3.22 to 77.21 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
