**Job Summary:**
Under general direction interprets and reports test results. Performs routine and complex technical laboratory analyses using established procedures and protocols. Performs chemical, microscopic, and bacteriologic tests to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of patients.
**Job Responsibilities and Requirements:**
+ PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Performs a full range of laboratory tests from simple blood tests to more complex tests.
+ Interprets test reports and communicates findings to physicians.
+ Escalates unusual, critical or abnormal results.
+ Operates complex electronic equipment, computers and precision instruments.
+ Performs and evaluates quality control procedures.
+ Maintains accuracy of equipment and reagents by performing established preventive maintenance procedures.
+ Assists providers in choosing appropriate lab test.
+ Evaluates new testing methods.
+ Operates, maintains, calibrates and troubleshoots instruments.
+ Assists with the proper storage of hazardous materials.
+ Maintains competencies and continuing education to keep informed of new developments in field.
+ Assists in the proficiency testing program in the lab.
+ Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.

+ Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience and education

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
+ Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.

+ Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.

SSM St. Anthony Hospital - Midwest is a 248 licensed bed facility working to meet the health care needs of eastern Oklahoma County and the surrounding communities. We offer a wide range of services including critical care, cardiology, orthopedics, surgery and behavioral health.

**What You'll Do**
**Reporting to the Clinical Nutrition Manager, the successful candidate will:**
+ Provide nutritional care for a variety of inpatient units
+ Educate patients regarding their acute and/or chronic diseases; have a desire to learn and help manage nutrition support
+ Perform quality improvement initiatives; and assist with food service management as is needed
+ Have effective written and verbal communication for all hospital and departmental programs and activities

Master's degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND)
