The RN Clinical Nurse is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team of licensed and unlicensed care givers who ensure that patients, families and significant others receive individualized high quality, safe patient care. The RN Clinical Nurse is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team of licensed and unlicensed care givers who ensure that patients, families and significant others receive individualized high quality, safe patient care. They practice in a clinical environment that is administered by Nurse Managers and other leaders and is supported through the Wellstar Shared Governance Model. The framework for practice is steered by the Wellstar Professional Practice Model and evidence-based practice and research. RN competencies are derived from these models and supported by the Wellstar Values.
It is expected that all RN Clinical Nurses are licensed, knowledgeable and uphold the practice of nursing as outlined by the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act and implements the Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics Standards put forth by the American Nurses Association. As a member of the patient services team, it is expected that the individual upholds the voice of the patient, system policies and procedures while supporting service excellence goals.

The Medical Assistant functions under the direction of the Physician, Clinical Lead, Clinical Nurse Supervisor, Nurse Supervisor and/or Office Manager. Recognizes patient's needs and symptoms in advance. Provides care for the patient under the physician's direction. Includes preparing patient for exams, assisting during treatments, coordinating tests and follow-up care and recording treatment in the medical record. Assists with explaining patient instructions to the patient/family. Demonstrates competency and skills to serve patients of all ages including neonate, infant, child, adolescent, adult and geriatric populations. Performs other duties as necessary related to front office registration, laboratory testing, and radiology functions within a specialty setting.

1. Register patient upon entrance to facility
2. Perform all necessary registration operations
3. Prepare equipment and rooms and aid physician with treatment of patients
4. Perform vitals and other duties to prep patients
5. Rotate among various clinical and non-clinical service areas such as lab, x-ray, and front office

Diagnostic Imaging Duties and Expectations

1. Perform radiographic and other diagnostic imaging procedures to assist clinical team and physicians in treatment of the patients.
2. Prepare and position the patients for imaging procedures ensuring all proper techniques including radiation protection.
3. Obtain optimum views as ordered by the physician.
4. Process images and review for proper identification and quality control.
5. Cross train other team members.
6. Complete and maintain logs, reports, and documentation

Laboratory Duties and Expectations

1. Properly start lab equipment daily and maintain daily logs and documentation requested
2. Perform laboratory tests according to orders and instructions
3. Draw blood samples from patients and perform Point of Care testing
4. Order and stock supplies weekly
5. Perform daily quality control and cleaning procedures according to guidelines
6. Cross train other team members

Patient Liaison
