POSITION SUMMARY:

Serves as central resource with regards to clinically related activities at the school site. Identifies the health care needs of students and the availability of health services/resources and plans and implements services to meet those health care needs. Reports to the Supervising Nurse.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Administers treatments and medication consistent with established protocol; assists with health needs of students, i.e. sickness, first aid, personal hygiene, as applicable; conducts vision and hearing screenings as needed.

Maintains documents of services rendered to students and accurate student health records, including registration and filing.

Consults with designated supervising nurse and external agencies in reference to reporting health issues; serves as a resource to parents and teachers concerning health problems of students.

Orders and maintains inventory of supplies.

All other duties, as assigned and required, in order to perform the above services.

KEY JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Associates Degree or 60 semester/90 quarter hours in Applied Science from any college holding the accreditation of CAAHEP (Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs) or related field preferred; High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Minimum of 2 years healthcare service experience at certified assistant level
Makes decisions or recommendations and takes actions which often affect the activities of others.

Medical or technical course certificate required; CPR and first aid training preferred.
Moderate level of judgment: supervisor is available to review established broad objectives and must approve high-level recommendations.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Student Behavioral Health Specialist will assist teams in determining the causes of students' challenging behaviors and assist school teams with the mental health referral process. The Specialist will conduct classroom-based observations and utilize multidimensional behavioral measures to collect data to aid in the design of treatment plans, progress monitor using evidence-based interventions, and highlight emotional and behavioral strengths. This position will also monitor the mental health referral process to ensure proper processing of referrals and quality provision of mental health services. This position will serve as a liaison between the school and community stakeholders.

The Student Behavioral Health Specialist will help coordinate and manage supports provided to students in the area of behavioral and emotional health. Responsibilities shall include planning and overseeing team-building activities, implementing program policies, researching and gathering resources, and communicating with various stakeholders. This position reports to the Director of Student Behavioral Health and Well-Being.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Monitors the fidelity of implementation of mental health supports

at the school level.

Collects data and prepares reports as required by local, state, and federal agencies. Conducts appropriate referrals and liaises with school personnel, parents, and agencies as needed.

Serves as a liaison between the District and community providers.

Provides direct services to schools to support mental health goals.

Provides overall leadership and oversight to teachers, principals, and others as needed in planning and utilizing courses of study in the development of improved program and curricula.

Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Education, or a related field required.

Disaster Health Services (DHS) Service Associate (SA) is a temporary position assigned to work in person before, during and/or after a disaster event this hurricane/wildfire season. Volunteers in this role provide assistance and healthcare to shelter residents as needed.
