Qualifications

* Registered nurse with current licensure to practice professional nursing in the state.
* Graduate of NLN accredited school of nursing with a BSN degree is preferred.

Job Title: Nurse Auditor

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Nurse Auditor who can understand the intricacies of standard medical coding, including CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS. The successful candidate will be responsible for adjudicating claims, maintaining compliance with client contracts, and ensuring accuracy in payment criteria. This role requires auditing and pricing a wide variety of claim types and identifying claims requiring further review. The Nurse Auditor will also maintain productivity goals, uphold quality standards, complete special projects, and research unclear claims.

Responsibilities

* Adjudicate claims to maintain compliance with client contracts and plan documentation.
* Determine accurate payment criteria for clearing pending claims based on defined policies and procedures.
* Audit and price a diverse range of claim types.
* Identify claims with inaccurate data and refer them to appropriate team members for review.

Our work environment offers a hybrid schedule with 3 days in-office and 2 days remote, with work hours from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, and a flexible start time between 6 AM and 8 AM. Preferred candidates are located in the Des Moines surrounding area or within the state of Iowa. The team consists of 7 members, including 3 RNs and 4 coders, and boasts over 250+ years of combined expertise. The culture is tight-knit and collaborative, with a strong emphasis on excellence. The Medical Allocator creates a cost projection of a patient's medical treatment needs by reviewing medical records and identifying a pattern of care. The medical cost projection, also knowns as a Medicare Set-Aside (MSA) report, is part of a workers' compensation or liability claim settlement. PAY RANGE:

CorVel uses a market based approach to pay and our salary ranges may vary depending on your location. Pay rates are established taking into account the following factors: federal, state, and local minimum wage requirements, the geographic location differential, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, internal employee equity, and market conditions. Our ranges may be modified at any time.

The Student Nurse - Patient Care Technician is responsible for providing care for patients of diverse ages. Works rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.

Essential Key Job Responsibilities

* Delivers assigned patient care and treatment as delegated by an RN or LPN.
* Performs or assists patients with activities including personal hygiene, bathing, ambulation, transporting, range of motion exercises, dressing/undressing, feeding, changing bandages, elimination needs, and emptying drainage devices.
* Responds to patient calls and anticipates patient needs. Assures patient safety and comfort through use of safe patient handling techniques, regular rounding, environmental maintenance, equipment maintenance, and other appropriate safety measures.
* Calculates intake and output (excluding IVs). Measures vital signs. Performs bedside blood glucose testing. Makes entries to patient health records as consistent with scope of job duties and in compliance with company policy.
* Initiates or assists with emergency support measures (i.e., cardiopulmonary resuscitation, protecting patient from injury).
* Performs post-mortem care.
* Sets up equipment and supplies for procedures. Prepares patients and rooms for procedures, admissions, and transfers. Discharges patients from system.
* Observes and reports information regarding any change in physical/mental condition, behavior, or status of the patient to the nurse.
* Collects and labels specimens.
* Sets up, operates, and maintains selected pieces of equipment.

Requirements

* Completion of 75-hour, 120-hour or 150-hour Certified Nursing Assistant program OR be listed as having passed CNA competency testing on the Iowa Direct Care Worker registry.


* Currently enrolled in an RN program or a Graduate of an accredited RN or LPN program, certification as an EMT in the State of Iowa, active listing on the National EMT registry, prior completion of an EMT certification, OR formally holding a medical occupational specialty from the military may be substituted for completion of CNA program and CNA Registry.


* Must be 16 years of age.


* Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter - Child and/or Dependent Adult Abuse training within three (3) months of hire.


* American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certified within six (6) weeks of hire.
