Description

Job Summary: Performs patient care focusing on individual differences, abnormal behavior, mental disorders, and their prevention and improvement of patient lifestyles. This is achieved through counseling and psychotherapeutic services. Serves as a consultant to other healthcare staff.

  • Works with patients exhibiting problems related to intellectual function, biological, emotional, psychological, social, and behavioral maladjustments, disabilities, distress, and mental disorders.
  • Capable of performing psychological assessments, diagnosis, intervention, and evaluation for patients of all ages, from adolescents to the geriatric population.
  • Possesses knowledge of psychotherapy theories and methods.
  • Demonstrates understanding of growth and development across the lifespan.
  • Provides counseling to individuals, families, groups, and couples.
  • Administers psychological tests.
  • Supervises other department members, including psychological technicians, biofeedback technicians, and students.
  • Actively participates in research studies.
  • Collaborates with other disciplines for a multidisciplinary approach to patient care.
